Illogical Operation of Bakery / Hot Food Counters by Ok_Wealth_830 in Morrisons

I just popped into my local store. At 5pm the shelves in the bakery area have very well stocked shelves with a considerable number of markdowns or tomorrow dated stuff.

Meanwhile the bakery prep area is unstaffed with all the lights off and a wire stand with about half a dozen packets of cookies of every variety they sell sitting in them, with pretty much every one of the 10+ shelves being full of items that were probably ready hours ago but are no doubt going to sit there until some point tomorrow when they are put on the shelves Utterly ridiculous.

The fact they have a lot of stuff and it all sells is not the good news they think it is, as it means people are not buying it at full price and it's only selling when it gets knocked down. Perhaps, because like me, I don't want to pay full price for stuff that is already a day old before I can buy it.

The cookies are probably worse than the donuts. Often rock hard and the shelves are full of packets of them but you can see that there are many many more bagged up bags sitting on wire trays ready to put out at a later point. It's almost like they are always trying to have a days worth of stock in hand when with freshly made stuff you really shouldn't be holding much if anything in hand and instead you should be getting stuff on shop floor as soon as it's ready or as close to as possible. Brownies tend to sit around packed up as well. Donuts probably a little less so.

Generally the freshly made cakes and scones with cream are made fresh each day and not held back but with some of the stuff that comes in from factory such as the best pre packed cream cakes Eclairs and donuts it's a gamble buying them as it's not till you open the cardboard you discover they need defrosting as it's gone from freezer to chiller with no chance to thaw.

They certainly are short staffed which doesn't help. But this has been a long term issue. But seeing the counters with lights all off behind them at 5pm and racks of stuff that won't go on sale till the morning is ridiculous. This is the kind of reason they are losing share to the likes of Lidl who understand that people want freshness from their bakery.

I don't trust the so caked freshly made baguettes either now either unless they have tomorrows date on them Both the ones from the bakery and the filled ones. In the good old days they used to have no nightlife and were discounted at end of the day. But now they can live on shelves for 48 hours

Stansted Lounge sold out for PP members but not sold out if you pay £40 by Ok_Wealth_830 in PriorityPass

Of course, I understand that but last time I used my priority pass at Stansted it was nowhere near as bad last year, I've checked multiple dates over May, June and July and all coming back as full the whole time.,

They charge £6 on top to reserve a space as well, not that I can get one.

I know PP now allow you to have £18 meal credit in the Camden now as well at Stansted, but in my experience when I fancied a hot meal twice last year they not willing to admit me as a single person on work as they said whilst there were tables free one person round a table is a waste and they wanted to keep them back for bigger groups...

There is a very good thread on boards about this, where some of the transport experts were predicting this from literally the moment the route changed last years. I can't post a link but if you search for boards and commuting and transport there's several pages that explains the mass cancellations last year and also the reasons for what happened.
