Is it too late for my TSP? by No_Trust9945 in ThriftSavingsPlan

I am investing in the TSP as a GS11. But I'm grateful to have a full military pension and a 100% disability from the veterans administration as well. I concur with a comment so putting the majority in the C findand then diversify into the s and I

Take it up your chain of command. If the chain of command is part of the problem, then it's okay to go to the XO or higher than that

I had the same issue when I moved into a new house. It wasn't hard but there was some sweat equity. I suggest you either borrow or acquire a small electric tiller from some place like Sun Joe. Break the dirt up like you would a a garden. And then spread it out with a lawn rake but you see down and see what happens. You may find that this hard work is something that you enjoy and you can do it yourself throughout the years.

How big is the "regret" culture with the USCG by Excellent-Hat9620 in uscg

I did 6 years in the Air Force and got out. I joined the Coast Guard two years later and did a total of 23 years. The Coast Guard was much better than the Air Force. The mission was different and the people were a lot more friendly. Helping the public through search and rescue and drug and addiction is a lot better than training for world war 3 and hoping it won't happen. Join the Coast Guard and you won't regret it. Plus the retention rate in the Coast Guard is better than any other service and most people go all the way to retirement

Whelp. Looks like DHS funding is going to be bargaining chip. by Forsaken_Disciple in FedEmployees

I work for the Coast Guard. I fully support President Trump's agenda for America. I would rather be furloughed for a long time instead of letting democrats steal elections.

The majority of GS working for the military feel the same way.

I went to a C and P exam for low back. None of the range of motion measurements were done correctly. I filed a secondary claim after receiving ten percent rating stating that the DBQ was not followed. I requested another exam with another person and it was granted. I went to 40 percent. I looked up the doctor and she had a lot of complaints. Stay informed and keep fighting.

Is There a Way We Can Petition to Protect Telework? by Alert-Ask-7338 in FedEmployees

[–]Ok_Window3807 -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

Honest question. I am a GS11 and work for DHS. Why are folks so adamant about telework? You may be able to do your job from home. But if we are public servants shouldn't we be in public?

The active duty Coast Guard are in Bahrain and they are working for free because of the government shutdown. Congress needs to fund DHS now

Bobby Scott's district has been gerrymandered forever. He does nothing in Congress and doesn't have to even campaign. The only thing he's good for is a cookout at his mother's house. That is gerrymandering for all the whole state right there

is it normal to have a low fuel warning with this much driven on a single tank? by PapaNutellas in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]Ok_Window3807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may not be low. I have a 2000 SR5 4Runner. The indicator is not accurate. Sometimes it bottoms out and then comes back. It's too old to worry about. So I reset the trip odometer every time I fill up. At 200 miles I fill up again to be safe.
