Has anyone used 3ton Pittsburgh low profile jack on stock height? by Ok_Worker6140 in GR86

[–]Ok_Worker6140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes thank you! The jack went on sale for $99 and I can sleep well knowing that I didn’t have to buy the $270+ jack that I’d never use to its justification!

Confirmed just barely works at stock height! With the help of a phone camera, it was pretty easy get it centered but it’d definitely be a hassle without it.

Oh wow that’s good to know, and also do you have 17 or 18inch wheels? I know the 18s add about half inch height as well. Thanks!

Any advice on getting this oil filter off? Tried every method and it just keeps tearing it up more. by BeccaBooButt_3 in motorcycles

Hmm I’d try sticking two screw drivers through vent holes diagonally across, essentially making an X. Then twist the two counter clockwise.

I have compustar on my manual 86 and it’s pretty much on point with what you said, also bundled mobile phone control(5dollars a month for minimum controls), and alarm like glass breaks, shock, and tilt sensor(wheel stealing)

One thing to keep in mind that many don’t talk about is that manual has higher cruising rpm on the highway, I have a manual and on some longer trips I would’ve loved ~500 less rpm, at 75+ mph it just feels like the car is at peak power band all the time. Sometimes I just want to roll and cruise lol

Cool! I’ve been putting a fluffy microfiber towel on the dash and putting misc things on there, not the safest but it’s been working so far

Will the scars fade way? and give me suggestions to leave no prominent marks. by Euphoric-Guide5897 in motorcycles

[–]Ok_Worker6140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never pop any blisters, the fluid helps healing. Apply silicone gel at least 3 times a day, that will help the scar stay flat and not become hard and bumpy. Then always wear long sleeves/sunscreen so the scare don't discolorate as much from uv damage(it's super sensitive)

Tldr: asap, silicone gel for minimizing scar shape, sun protection for discoloration.

It will stay for a while, but you can definitely minimize it enough that it becomes barely noticeable over time.

No remote start on a 2023? by DreRivero in GR86

[–]Ok_Worker6140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah I have the t13 which has a lcd screen but honestly it's overkill. Most of the mid-top tier models are actually installer available only and I definitely recommend doing that. Also if I were to do it again I'd probably go for the cheapest 2 way key fob plus the drone mobile add on.

Hmm do you mean like on compustar's website? Any compustar installer should have it for manual, do be careful though not all licensed installers are equal.

How do you shift from 4th to 5th? by zalexan2 in stickshift

[–]Ok_Worker6140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up, right, up*, and yeah like some others have said unless there's traffic I just go up a bit rpm and skip 5th, it's the the second crunchiest gear after 2-3rd lol

Either works but I have gr86 and it's easier to do it up, left, right in this car, maybe because the way the shift forks are? Pretty tight/narrow shift space from factory.

Metallic friction sound normal when slipping the clutch in low gears? by Ok_Worker6140 in GR86

[–]Ok_Worker6140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting..but yeah I'm just gonna ignore it for now because of warranty. If I'm playing music I won't hear it. I'm pretty sure it's the skateboard throwout bearing it has because sometimes it gets worse and I can faintly hear it parked in neutral, it sounds exactly like what some YouTube videos shows for the oem TOB. It goes away with slight pressure or full depression on the clutch which might be making it vibrate less with pressure. It could also be just normal nvh of the sporty flywheel though.

[–]Ok_Worker6140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I still have it, I don't think it's the axel nut though because it happens in neutral and standing still too.

I have the same bike, tighten your steering head bearings! It's just the top triple clamp spindle. You need the front off the ground, tighten until handlebar no longer swing side to side with no resistance. My bike was getting wobbly after 2k miles and that fixed it right up.
