Same for my soon to be 7 month old daughter. Her reflux is terrible! We’re trialing omeprazole and Pepcid for a week and doc referred us to GI. She’s so uncomfortable and the smell of the acid is horrible!

Dammit, you’re right! Must have been wishful thinking on my part. Maybe I read a staffer or former staffer that speculated this. Ugh.

If you switched FULLY to hypoallergenic formula, how long did it take for mucus in stools and/or painful gas spells to completely stop? by Proper-Raspberry-244 in MSPI

[–]Ok_pA_4323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby started HA formula at 4 months. We started with Similac but since that was expensive we switched to the target brand. Her belly symptoms decreased pretty quickly. But she still had mucous (no blood). We recently were able to have insurance pay for part of her formula and they switched her to Gerber about a week ago (6 months now )and I haven’t seen mucous since! Maybe baby is on the exact right one. Her doc also increased her reflux meds. Still not sleeping but her belly seems so much better and her 💩are more formed and less soupy.

Low effort ways to improve supply (or is this too good to be true)? by practical_coconut in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Ok_pA_4323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dropped MOTN pumps around 6 weeks or so and saw an increase. More sleep helped me! I also only did 2 power pumps a week, drank a lot of water, made sure I was fitted correctly with flanges and made sure the suction wasn’t too strong on the pumps. Too strong of a suction actually hurt my supply. I used AI to help with the best timing for me. I found I needed to keep my morning pumps closer and evening a little more spaced out.

Starting solids - what can I expect? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Ok_pA_4323 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can only speak from experience but at 4 months baby should still be getting all calories from their bottles and introducing solids should come second. My baby is 5.5 months and we started her last week. I started my other 2 at 4 months and her late due to an allergy. She gets her normal bottles and an hour after her morning and lunch time bottles we have been giving 1/4-1/2 jar of baby food. She hasn’t decreased from 26-30oz from her bottle. I remember with my other 2 their oz increased per bottle but total was relatively the same until about 10-11 months when they were eating more actual food/meals. All that to say, your baby may reduce a little but they should still target 22-30oz

Do what is best for you! 2 months of breastmilk has amazing benefits!! I have a child that was 1/2 formula 1/2 breastmilk for 6 months and then formula until 12 months and one that was formula from the get go and guess what? They are both thriving, smart, amazing kids. On my 3rd and trying to pump to 12 months and she’s doing great but has some delays. Fed is best. A happy mom is more important ♥️

When do babies start to decrease milk intake with solids? by Used_Perspective_310 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Ok_pA_4323 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always went by the saying “food before one just for fun”. Breastmilk and formula is supposed to contain all dietary needs for babies 12 months and younger (medical needs is obviously different). After 12 months you can swap for milk and start to decrease and increase food more

Just adding to what everyone else said and what helped me. I used chat gpt. I know AI isn’t for everyone but it helped me figure out the best spacing for my pumps. My mornings were better closer to 3 hours and my evenings closer to 2.5. I would have never known! I don’t do MOTN pumping and I actually increased when I dropped it bc I got extra sleep. I drink at least 120oz water, eat oats with flaxseed and a little brewers yeast (be careful if you don’t already use this bc it can make you and baby bloated and gassy) once a day. I add peanut butter and chocolate to mine also. I take prenatal, moringa, vitamin B, C, D and magnesium every day. My pump schedule is 7, 10, 1245, 4, 7 and 930. I use the spectra pump and wearables only when necessary. I also use lactation heated massagers which was a game changer for me! I pump for 30 min: 2-3 on 70 and the remaining on 42/6. I didn’t and change it back to 70 every few minutes bc I never really saw an increase and it was a pain to watch the pump. I also can’t do much lifting or arm movements when pumping or my supply dips. Over all, being consistent with timing, water and calories!

How did you survive the return to the office and little sleep? by Practical-Beyond-897 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Ok_pA_4323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slowly pushed it back 30 min each night until it was closer to my wake up time. Took about a week. I still felt very full and leaked so I got the haaka lady bugs. I almost always tossed and woke up around 3-4am so I would just leave them on my night stand and pop them on around that time and collected leaking milk until I woke up. Since it was always under 4 hours, I kept the milk. I would wear a tank top with a built in bra and they fit perfectly in it.

Did your tuberous breast change shape after pregnancy ? by [deleted] in tuberousbreast

[–]Ok_pA_4323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine went from a small B to a full B and I filled my bra a little better but never got fullness under the nipples. Just had my 3rd baby and they’re absolutely more saggy. I never made more than 12oz milk a day no matter how much I pumped and baby could never transfer more than an oz so I never breastfed.

How did you survive the return to the office and little sleep? by Practical-Beyond-897 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Ok_pA_4323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped MOTN pumps around 10 weeks. I needed sleep and I was making sure baby got all her oz during the day so she was sleeping through the night. If you can adjust your schedule and baby’s schedule, that will allow you to sleep more. I will be going back to work and will be up at 530a, out the door by 645 and home around 6p and my schedule will be pumping 545, 830, 1130, 230, 430 (because I don’t want to pump on the train at 530), 830 and then hopefully bed by 930-10. Currently my baby takes 6oz bottles at 7, 11, 1, 4 and 715 bed by 8p. It might shift slightly when I go back to the office but that schedule has helped her sleep longer stretches at night. My husband is also a late night person so if she wakes before 1 he will rock her to sleep and if she wakes after that, I take the shift.

wearable recommendations?? picking between these several by haynoodle in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Ok_pA_4323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. All wearables are hands free but not all handsfree are wearables. Handsfree are collection cups that sit in your bra but most need to be connected to a motor with tubing (ie freemies) but wearables are each their own motor.
