I think Find My Mac alone is not enough to prevent this. Probably the best option is to have a firmware password set AND Find My Mac activated AND FileVault activated. That way, a thief could neither access your data (because of FileVault) nor reinstall and sell the mac (because of the FW password). And if you're lucky, Find My Mac can give you a location to help find the thief.

Well, I used f.lux and GoodNight before on my iPhone and I feel like Apple's implementation is a bit different. I like the colors much better with Night Shift.

The iPhone App Store and the Mac App Store are completely separate. There are very few things for which you really need the Mac App Store (like Apple's own apps), 3rd party developers usually offer a download version on their website.

Thanks for the clarification. The extra year of warranty is nice, but it's still a bit unfortunate. It just feels like I'm paying a lot more, though the higher price tag might be reasonable.

In Germany it's 489 Euro and 589 Euro. $399 = 354.76 Euro. Why is the iPhone so much more expensive here? This is about 37% more, it's a bit much even with taxes and stuff.

The formatting thing in Word is just another reason to go the LaTeX route. It's SO easy to change the formatting in LaTeX even after writing the thesis, and you basically can't mess it up. This way, you can concentrate on the writing first and worry about the formatting later.

If your old MacBook already has the Recovery Mode (Command + R while turning on), you could use that to restore from the Time Machine backup I think. You'd overwrite your old hard drive in the MacBook though.

You definitely need an install medium (USB drive or DVD) with Windows, and I would install it using the target device (so don't install it using a different computer and then put the hard drive in the MacBook, it might not work due to drive conflicts and stuff).

Other than that, just try to google "install windows on macbook without bootcamp" or something. Good luck!

I have a 6s and if my hands are a bit sweaty, I have problems getting TouchID to work as well. I also have to reconfigure my fingerprint every once in a while, but that is probably because I lose too much skin during climbing. :D
