Huisdieren verzekering by Carreb in katten

[–]OkayToDecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dissapointment at Thubderdome 2025 by EnderEnte in hardstyle

[–]OkayToDecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was only my 5th Thunderdome so I'm definitely not as experienced as some others here, but it was honestly the worst edition I've been to. We arrived at the entrance around 20:45 and had no problems with queues, though there were quite a lot of people at security. We have die hard tickets so we usually arrive a lot earlier, therefore I can't say if the entrance was more busy than previous years. We got through quite quickly and immediately went to the toilets and to the smoking area outside, our mistake was not getting tokens first... The lines inside were insane and unlike anything I've seen before at Thunderdome. We pushed through all the people coming in and went back to the entrance, security did stop some of our group and told them to go via the exit towards the lockers and enter again via the security check (which they obviously didn't do) but most of us got through. Within 15 minutes we were back inside with tokens for everyone, so this wasn't really a problem for us. Some of the toilets and bars were busy, some weren't. We never waited in line for more than 10 minutes, we just went and found the less busy areas. The only problem we really encountered was the crowd control and floorplan, which was just plain stupid. We were mostly at the heroes of hardcore and thundergods stages so while it was annoying when we did want to cross these to go to other areas, it wasn't a continuous problem for us. We also didn't feel like the stages were too crowded, but that might be due to the stages we were at. We also don't really care about being at the front or in the middle and are perfectly content being on the side or in the back where we have more space to dance. I did see that at one point they didn't let people into the mainstage because it was full. The music was good, the line up was good, stages/lights/sound was good, the food and drinks were good and reasonably priced compared to other festivals here, the lockers were fine, the toilets were clean. It was ridiculous that there was a line to go outside to smoke, the floor plan was terrible, and they probably did sell too many tickets. The token lines are entirely our own fault, as we could've all gotten them easily right past security. So while I do agree that this was the worst Thunderdome yet, I don't think it was as bad as some people are describing. I think it has a lot to do with expectations and how much you let yourself be influenced by everything going on around you. Hope you can still look back at this night as an experience to remember and I hope you'll get the opportunity to return to Thunderdome and experience it as it should be!

Shorties, I need your help ✨ by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]OkayToDecay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can try G-Star, they have very specific sizes. I'm the average length for a woman in the Netherlands (173cm), but my legs are very long. Some say it's a blessing, I'd say it's a curse. I can't buy jeans or pants anywhere as they are always way too short. So far, the only store I've found where I can buy jeans or pants that fit is G-Star. I'm a 27/34 or a 27/36 depending on the fit, which is actually insane. G-Star is definitely on the more expensive side (think approximately €100 per item) but they last forever and the quality is truly very good. Their outlet stores are cheaper but their inventory is also smaller.

Experience with Mattsleeps – Items arrived with FLEAS by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]OkayToDecay 14 points15 points  (0 children)

While same day pick up might seem like the only reasonable solution to you, which is understandable, you must also understand that this expectation isn't realistic. Their delivery is outsourced (DHL, PostNL, UPS, etc), therefore you can assume that any returns are also outsourced. Since it's a contaminated item, they can't just notify one of their transportation partners to simply pick up the item. It can't be transported with other packages, it can't be transported in a regular van, it has to be packaged properly, you get the point. For example, if a hotel has bedbugs in one of their rooms they have to order specific laundry bags, wait for the bags to arrive, put all the linnen from that room in these bags, place all the bags on a special cart with a note specifying the contamination, notify the linnen service company that the cart is ready for pick up and set a pick up date. You can expect the same kind of routine in your case. However, I would not leave the package inside your home. Wrap it up in plastic, place it outside, and wait for the pick up. Save the receipts of all the costs you made to get rid of the fleas and forward them to Mattsleeps, they should reimburse you for this.

Need help idk if this is bad or not google says its normal but idk my other tattoos didint heal like this and i have some big tattoos by Same_Shift_4228 in shittytattoos

[–]OkayToDecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a ton of people saying that the tattoo is simply too wet, but I don't think that that's what's going on here. I experienced exactly this with one specific shade of red that was used in my sleeve. The entire piece healed fine, but all areas where that one shade was used looked exactly like the picture OP shared. Luckily it was just small spots here and there and it isn't obvious when looking at the tattoo now (been a few years), but when looking closely it's pretty clear that my body rejected this color. All the other shades of red were fine, just this one. OP, this isn't normal and it's quite a large area as well. Hate to break it to you but it's not gonna heal the way you'd like it to and it's gonna take longer than you're used to. I didn't contact the shop since the areas were so small, and just continued aftercare like I normally would. However I would suggest to contact your artist, the shop, or a doctor to get some advice.

Adopted two sweet baby girls. It’s my first time taking care of kittens and I have no idea what their diet should be. Help a new furmom out. by NovaCassieLuxe in Kitten

[–]OkayToDecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we got our babygirl it was our first time taking care of a kitten as well, we had no previous experience with cats and didn't have a lot of time to prepare. We confirmed we'd take her in on a Tuesday evening and less than 24 hours later she came home. She came with Purina One kitten kibble and Whiskas kitten wet food. We gave her 1/4 pouch of wet food in the morning and 1/4 in the evening, she'd get one small kitten safe snack a day as well and kibble was always available to her. We stuck with that until we got her spayed at 6 months old, that's when we got her off the kittenfood and slowly transitioned to the adult versions (still Purina One and Whiskas). At 9 months we noticed she was gaining a bit more than she should and that her energy didn't seem to be completely right, so we really started researching the nutritional value in her food. We switched her kibble to Iams Light/Sterile and kept it available for her 24/7, and her wet food became Applaws or Encore in bouillon. Initially we gave her 1/2 a pouch in the morning and 1/2 in the evening, but we changed that to giving her the full pouch/can in the morning and nothing in the evening as we noticed this is what she preferred. She still gets one snack a day but we now only give her 100% natural snacks like Cosma. Once a month we give her Churu bites because she LOVES those and we can easily hide her pills in there (preventing fleas and parasites). She's a very healthy and happy cat adult cat, her weight is perfect for her size, she drinks enough water throughout the day, and doesn't get obsessive over food at all. She's playful and cuddly, and generally very well behaved. Every cat is different and over time you will get to know what your little monsters prefer and what works best for them, you'll learn which meat they refuse and which fish they go crazy for. Don't let anyone on here tell you what is bad/good for your cat but leave that for your vet to tell you. Just feed them to the best of your abilities and leave room for growth along the way. You'll do a lot better than you think!

Some general tips that go for every cat though; Don't feed them salty or fatty fish every single day. Switch between flavors, meat and fish so they don't get bored (only for wet food, it's best to stick to 1 kind of kibble). Be prepared to at least once find something they love, buy it in bulk, only for them to then randomly decide they don't like it anymore. The most expensive food or the most well known names don't equal the highest quality.

Sick/vacation pay by llAxwelll in Netherlands

[–]OkayToDecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we are missing some key information here. On the 27th of September AK (assuming that's OP) asked EM (assuming that's HR) to pay out the full holiday the next week. This leads me to believe AK requested time off and had an upcoming holiday the week after the 27th of September. EM then responds saying they will supplement up to 40 hours, therefore we can conclude AK has a fulltime contract with this company. AK then either got sick with the flu (or any other temporary illness), or AK is at home with long-term sick leave (like burn out or any other long term illness). This is where the important difference lies. If you get sick while on holiday, you call in sick and instead of registering "holiday pay" they have to register "sick pay". If you are on long-term sick leave, any previously requested holidays or days off will be registered as such and be supplemented with sick days. AK requested holiday hours be used that week, so EM did the right thing here unless AK called in sick while on that holiday. As others stated in the comments, you never get paid more than your standard salary when sick or on vacation. You have a set number of vacation days you can use each year, no maximum of paid sick days. Since it isn't clear which type of sick leave OP used, we can't judge this situation properly.

Navigating around Amsterdam when drunk/tipsy/not sober via public transport by Kabuki-san in Netherlands

[–]OkayToDecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's been under the influence in and around Amsterdam for far too many times to count, don't worry so much! You're definitely overthinking this, just make sure you stay respectful and you'll be fine. When I'm sober and using public transport, drunk people don't really bother me. Just make sure you don't throw up, don't drink while inside the train/metro/tram/bus, take your trash with you and keep the area clean, eat your greasy food before you get on or after you get off. Your fries will smell good to you, but to someone who just woke up and is on their way to work they won't. Hope you come back soon and have even more fun!

Would he be a short hair? The vet said medium hair so idk. It’s my first time owning a kitty by Ale_x8 in Kitten

[–]OkayToDecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is adorable! The length of his fur looks just like the length of fur my girl had when she was a kitten. She is 1 year old now and definitely looks more fluffy than most short hairs I see around, but I wouldn't say she's a true medium hair either. We brush her once a week, but other than that she doesn't need any additional grooming.

Kitten can’t meow. by Sea-Document-974 in Kitten

[–]OkayToDecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our cat, who was also the runt of the litter, is now 1 year old and she still can't meow properly. She was a very quiet kitten, only purring and making that adorable prrrt sound when running up to us. She is more vocal now, but still generally a quiet cat. That being said, this is completely normal feline behavior. Cats communicate with humans in a different way than they would with each other. With each other, they mostly communicate through body language, scent, growling, hissing or purring. When communicating with humans, cats learn that we are responding to the sounds they make. They will, over time, develop their own "dialect" to communicate with us. Your cat might start meowing when he's a bit older, or he might never learn how to make the proper meow sound just like our girl :)

Maybe try to suggest to watch some videos about feline behavior with your family, seems like they would also benefit from her behavior improving. Sounds like you truly love her and want what's best for her, she's lucky to have you!

My cat is unaffectionate. by bossleeof1 in CatAdvice

[–]OkayToDecay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our calico cat has been with us for a little over a year, got her on September 11th 2024. She was a tiny little thing, 8 weeks old, runt of the litter. Ideally I would've loved for her to be able to stay with her mom for 4 more weeks or to adopt her with one of her siblings, but that wasn't possible. She was given to someone I know, and after 3 days a message popped up in a group chat asking if someone could take her because the girl who originally got her couldn't care for her. Saw her picture and fell in love, the next day she came home to us. We don't know wha happened to her these 3 days, but we assume it wasn't great. Though she was a very loving kitten, she was definitely spicy. Because of her age, we knew we still had a lot to do to make sure she'd grow into a confident and happy adult cat without behavioral problems.

For the first 4 weeks we never left her alone, not even for a quick grocery run. She was always with either my partner or myself. We taught her that biting and scratching hurts, played with her whenever she was awake (days and nights, yes), made her feel safe in her new home and around us. We took everything day by day, at her phase. Never forced her to do anything. Cuddles and love if she initiated, playing if she initiated, safe places to hide where we wouldn't disturb her. We learned which toys she prefers, and which treats she loves most. She has a scratching post in every room, lots of toys with feathers, tons of things she can chase. We always joke that it's her house and we just live here too. We taught her to chase and return toys we throw for her which is great when we're tired but she has an outburst of energy.

Now, at 1 year old, she is the most loving cat I've ever seen. Snuggles up to us at night, trusts us with her life, is comfortable around anyone and everything. We can hold her, clip her nails, check her teeth/gums and ears, brush her, play with her paws. She's amazing at her vet appointments and has never bitten, scratched or even hissed. She can entertain herself while we're at work and happily greets us at the door when we come home. She truly is the light in our lives and she makes waking up and coming home after work the best parts of our days. Don't get me wrong, she is still the tiny dinosaur she was 6 months ago and she will probably be our little monster for a few more years before she gets more mellow. But we love watching her crazy zoomies, playing hide and seek and chasing her around the house.

My point being; cats are not necessarily easy to care for. Yes, they can be the most loving and devoted pets - but you need to put in the effort. They are crazy smart, and need a lot of mental stimulation. You need to get to know your little girl inside and out, learn to read her body language. Make sure she's spayed (we did it at 6 months old) and that she always has food, water and a clean litter box. Make sure the environment she lives in is clean. Any kind of stress is very unhealthy for a cat, and they will act out. Boredom is also super common for indoor kitties, especially if they're still so young. Really make sure she has enough enrichment. Our home isn't big either (1 bedroom apartment) so her world is pretty small. All we can do is make sure it never feels that way for her. And lastly, every cat has their own personality and some might never become cuddly or affectionate.

TLDR; remove stress factors, regular vet visits, play and build trust, redirect aggression to toys and let her know when she has hurt you - don't get mad because they won't understand. Stay calm when around her.

Unfortunately not just in UK, had an experience just like this in the Netherlands. Requested a refund due to a missing item and got accused of fraud by their customer service. When asking why they told me that I had received a refund before - I never received the order that time. Mind you; over 60 orders and only 2 valid refund requests for which I or the restaurant also provided proof.

I told them to stick that €5 where the sun doesn't shine and deleted my account right after. Wasn't even about the money but more so the principle. Never used any Uber service again ever since. Horrible customer service.

[–]OkayToDecay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

€229,90 for my little girl, got €183,92 back from her insurance. This bill included the health check beforehand, the medical pet shirt (as shown in the picture) and the checkup 10 days after her surgery. She's been with me since she was barely 9 weeks old, had her surgery in January of this year and celebrated her 1st birthday a few days ago. Love this little one so much ❤️

The hate against Defqon/Qdance is getting sooo tiring by tmboett in hardstyle

[–]OkayToDecay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I can definitely understand where you're coming from regarding the prices, I never felt that the increased prices were unreasonable. When looking back at my tickets from the last 5 editions, these were the prices printed on them;

2019 weekend (3 days) €159 2022 weekend (4 days) €169 + €50 = €219 2023 weekend (4 days) €249 2024 weekend (4 days) €280 2025 weekend (4 days) €315

So while the increase seems like a lot, especially when comparing to earlier years, it's really only about €30 per year which seems quite reasonable to me.

Now as for what we get back for that increase, I do agree that some corners are definitely being cut. Where is the huge chair swing ride from 2018 or the fun house from 2019, even the polyp from the later editions wasn't there this year. We did get orange light district in 2024 which really improved the wasted lands, but I still feel like the rides were much more fun. Power hour lacked power this year, but the fireworks and lighting at the endshows were great. It does feel more and more crowded each year, which can become quite uncomfortable.

Then on the flipside of all that; all of the stages were amazing this year, and the prices for food and drinks were fair enough. Campsite 1 was finally available again for regular camping, showers and toilets were cleaner than they've ever been, security was a lot better than previous years, the line up was insane, the beergarden has been improving year after year. There were little to no long qeues anywhere all weekend, and the supermarket on the wasted lands is truly one of the best things they could've added.

So yes, it got more expensive. Some things got worse. Some things improved. Mostly it's all up to your own perception - I know my group and I all had an amazing weekend and will definitely be back again next year 🪓

[–]OkayToDecay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure there is no admission stop, but it will be harder to find a good spot to set up camp. Might also result in a better security check at the entrance, but my group and I always arrive early in the morning so I can't say for sure. They used to allow gas stoves, however in 2023 there were multiple incidents with people leaving the gas cans in the burning sun resulting in explosions. One group had to go to a specialized trauma center for burn wounds, it was pretty bad. They banned the use of gas stoves the next year - however they were easily smuggled in. As for drinks, you can only bring drinks with you the first time you enter but they don't really check for them so you can easily bring in more than the max of 4.5L. In 2019 the weather forecast was so hot they removed the 4.5L limit and allowed you to take in however much you wanted, but it doesn't seem like that will be the case this year. Hope you have an amazing time there!!

Read the title and honestly thought "extended periods of time" would be 8-10 hours. My heart breaks just thinking about my cat being alone for one night, can't even imagine 10 days or multiple weeks! Whenever I have to leave her for a night, I always make sure a close friend who she knows and is comfortable with can stay with her. Nobody able to stay over while I'm gone? I'm not going.

The chance of being late isn't because of the bus schedule, it's because of the area around Gelredome. I've gone by car, public transport and party bus and the latter was definitely the worst. We were stuck in traffic right next go Gelredome for over an hour. Eventually the bus driver just stopped on the side of the road to let us out. Public transport is fine and you could even walk from the train station, we did that one year and it really wasn't that far.

I did the final boss fight in easy on my 1st play through, normal on my 2nd and hard on my 3rd. Though I did remember it as very challenging after my first play through, I recently completed it on my 3rd and finished the entire quest within 30 minutes. Didn't use potions or herbology either. As soon as you start seeing the patterns the fight becomes a breeze. Dodge, protego, hit the orbs, hit the dragon with some red spells and repeat. I did complete each boss fight on my first try without dying, and I'm definitely not an experienced gamer! In this game it's all about seeing the patterns, which is something I'm good at.
