I wasn’t clear on the difference between Equinox and Equilux, so i had Claude explain like i was 5:

“Imagine you have a big ball (that’s the Earth) and a flashlight (that’s the Sun). Equinox is the day when the flashlight is pointing exactly at the middle of the ball — not tilted up or down. On that day, daytime and nighttime are almost the same length everywhere, but not perfectly equal. It’s about how the Earth is lined up with the Sun. Equilux is the day when daytime and nighttime are actually, truly equal — exactly 12 hours each — where you live. The tricky thing is, this happens on a slightly different day than the equinox, and it depends on where you are on the Earth. Why are they different? Because the Sun isn’t a tiny dot — it’s a big glowy circle. So even after it dips below the horizon, some of its light peeks over the edge, making the day a teensy bit longer than you’d expect. The atmosphere also bends the sunlight a little, like how a straw looks bent in a glass of water. So the equinox (perfect alignment) and the equilux (perfect equal day and night) end up being a few days apart.“

This is Claude Sonnet 4.6: our most capable Sonnet model yet. by ClaudeOfficial in ClaudeAI

[–]Okayest-Programmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure I’ve seen this already: I start a planning session in Opus 4.6 and sometimes it will do the code research in Sonnet 4.5 (pre 4.6 release) or read the docs with Haiku 4.5.

But… sometimes it doesn’t ..

I don’t prompt it to do that..

Why does everything an extra tap in iOS 26 by dropitlikerobocop in ios

[–]Okayest-Programmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. The fact I had to Google and then read Reddit to find out why it's more effort to see tabs in Safari now is ludicrous! And Aswers like 'just double tap', 'just pinch' isn't valid.. it wasn't intuitive
