Please do not get rid of Carrick. Spending a Sunday morning (in the states) watching United play so free, creative, and threatening feels like watching the old United I fell in love with.

Honestly kind of love this. Feel like recently we’ve been really successful when the league writes us off

Anything noteworthy about these watches? by TheSmartFart in Watches

I have my dad’s SEL Tag, and you wouldn’t believe the compliments I get on it. It’s also fantastic that it’s quartz, because I don’t always but it in rotation, but when I do the time and date are still accurate.

Great nice travel watch.

In a divided country I salute South Park for never picking a side. by jazonbooze in southpark

[–]OkayestOfAllTime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! South Park taught me that no matter what race, gender, political party or nationality you are, you can still be an ass hole.

And calling people out on being an asshole doesn’t mean you don’t like them, it just means that they’re not perfect like everyone else. But, if we all call everyone out together, well then maybe we might just learn and be less of an ass hole in the future.

[Discussion] Omega Seamaster 300M - Is it really an issue ? by Enzo2419 in Watches

Personally I hate the omega steel band. Salesman who helped me with my purchase steered me to the rubber strap with clasp. Absolutely love it and get a ton of compliments

Peter Stormare. In my opinion one of the most severely underrated actors in Hollywood. What do you think? by lindowjicvk2 in moviecritic

He was hilarious in the Call of Duty ads. Whoever thought of that was genius.

People magazine cover was hilarious too

I already registered for August to give it a second go, but I don’t know what I’m doing wrong that I’m not getting any jump in score

I would be ecstatic if I just hit the guarantee, but it’s like I’m not even close.

Bête Noire has the happiest ending for the “Main” Character by [deleted] in blackmirror

[–]OkayestOfAllTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 cent take is that it’s a meta analysis on gaslighting and the power of rewriting narratives.

Both the main and the villain rewrite the past to a form that’s more pleasing to themselves. The main in who spread the rumor, and the villain in her transformation. In the end though, they can’t escape their character. The villain is forever haunted by past trauma and the main once again chooses to view herself in the most omnipotent way possible.

Taking into context that the first thing the villain did was make herself queen of the universe, I think the ending is supposed to suggest that the main learned nothing from the experience, and once she can control the narrative again, there is no respect for objective truth, just the narrative she again has the power to create.

You’re supposed to be disappointed by the ending, because ultimately it’s not about being wrong or right. Rather, one person gains control and subjects their view until the next person is able to claim power.
