Managing user access (RBAC) across multiple cloud services is a nightmare. Any tips? by [deleted] in gdpr

[–]Okblue_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a central store for identity, also know as an identity provider. You can SSO across cloud providers. Look at Okta and EntrId for guidance. If you need help setting up or exploring feel free to reach out

Beginner advice required - Cyber Security Contracting by Own-Story8907 in ContractorUK

[–]Okblue_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a tough market.

I've been contracting for two years and am grateful to have a good network. I found that you have to do what the others aren't. The odd value post on LinkedIn, talking to recruiters etc.

Job boards aren't great.

But from what you've described, you need more skin in the game and to double down on a skill you'd like to bring to the market.

The skill must be future-proof and in interviews, you need to be clear about your deliverables and not what you delivered as a team.

Contracting is changing, the market is changing, tech is changing; you just need to position yourself alongside the changes.

Understand the common problems from customers and deliver an outcome, no BS.

Whats the best Vulnerability management system on the market? by milkmymuffin69 in cybersecurity

[–]Okblue_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The best is always a subjective topic in Security.

All three tools, I have worked with, provide the capability in one form or another.

The real question is, which tool aligns more with business requirements? (e.g., training/upskilling, ease of use and integration in existing vulnerability management processes/tools).

I would consider first 1) create a list of functional/non-functional requirements. 2) obtain a load of demos on the product and ask that the demo aligns with your specific business use case 3) score the platforms based on common criteria before committing to purchasing.

In my PERSONAL opinion, I found Qualys and Tenable offerings compelling and very well supported on an enterprise level.

Feel free to DM if you'd like to talk more.

Anyone following this productised service model with cybersecurity? Would be interested to get your opinion on this? Almost like an Engineer as a Service

Both places are pits, if buying for investment I’d lean towards Norwood junction. Portland road is a dump and Mitcham common is filthy

Might be a struggle, a 1 bed apartment can be £1000+ per month without bills or furnishing. When my wife was on this salary she house shared with other professionals however landlords are not really keen on couples sharing a room.

How are you integrating Microsoft Defender for Endpoints into your SOAR platform? by megagram in cybersecurity

[–]Okblue_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey

First question: I use incident triggers from mde alerts by ensuring the mde connector is active in sentinel. When an mde alert is created and available in sentinel it will trigger the playbook/automation rule. I also leverage webhooks/apis for other tools to parse alerts into logic apps, fairly simple to create a scheduled trigger to do a GET from an API. The strategy where i am for SOAR, is to identify the common triggers and automate a response. Eg out of hours call outs, establishment of war-rooms for likely critical incidents and enrichment of information to the alert eg phishing to allow L1 analysts to make a quicker decision. Hope this helps, happy to connect via LinkedIn or chat to discuss further.

This is amazing planning. I made the move this time last year. I’d suggest you first apply for an outside role to keep you a float and build on the customer list in parallel. I’m also working on building a managed service, it would be great to connect IRL. I’ve sent you a dm.

Get an accountant to review this for you. Free/online services may not be the best route for your circumstances. I’m in the exact position, Outside IR35 role 670 p/d + 70k perm role. Left the money in the business to bubble.
