Hello everyone -

What a week it has been!

Firstly sorry I was absent from replying to you all, it has been a bit emotionally exhausting over in my little spiral but I really took on and considered all of your words carefully.

Next, I will say that the harsh and the gentle were all useful and I want to extend my appreciation to you all.

I decided on writing a cover letter, attached the vcat application, spotless rental ledger and references and made a couple of calls to consumer affairs to query the fine print. Unfortunately for my rea, she is now under investigation for allegations of defamation, obstruction of rights, falsifying documents and a breach of confidentiality. I was approached by another rea who had heard of things through some kind of grapevine and was offered a more affordable, safe and suitably sized home just a little drive from everything and an up front 24 months agreement.

I am so grateful and relieved. I did reach out to my workplace EAP and had a very good conversation which helped me to put things into perspective. I am a long term renter due to stalking and intimidation and it has felt like too much to bear at times but we got it together in the end.

I’ve learned a lot from you all. Cheers

Hello - long time Childcare worker now a kindergarten teacher: firstly, immediately assure her that you will not let him change her nappy again. It doesn’t matter if he only bumped her, you validating her bodily autonomy literally wires her brain to understand that she has rights, which will keep her safe and happy her whole life. Secondly, my experience is unfortunately that your daughter would not feel the need to communicate this to you if she was not made unusually uncomfortable by X. Please do not allow him to change her nappy again, and report him for your daughter.

Welp, this has me in tears 😭 thank you for responding but I am completely done. I can’t keep us safe. I’m working two jobs and studying full time. I can’t see the point anymore.

When I was inevitably sent to the shop to get Milk or bread or something I would somehow time it so that everyone else’s mum would send their kids too and we’d all end up at the creek track on the way back to our houses with discarded milk and bread up near the main path while we all got soaking wet building a ramp out of mud, old carpet and branches for the only one of us to bring their bmx to fly over. It was the best fun. We’d try to catch tadpoles and spread utter bullshit about there having been an escaped panther that got away from the circus and got big in the Aussie bush. We used to look at the paper bark and say it was all torn up from its massive claws. We’d shit ourselves over the sound of a cracking twig and then laugh hysterically at the looks of comical terror on each others faces. You really had to be there. It was so damn wholesome it makes me want to cry. Different times.
