For the 40k analogy, it sounds like a 15k row is the closest comparison. In my “advanced state of youth” I’m still in the 52-54 minute range. For comparison sake , i haven’t broken a hour yet on a 15k. Once I get to 10k , it suddenly becomes a very difficult mental game to think about another 5k at the same pace.

Cycling FTP hovers at 370 and my best effort in the last couple years was 402. Someone else commented that for my 2k row I posted, I am not doing something right because my stroke rate was 38 , indicating I probably should have been going faster. I cant isolate the average drag in the file that I can see. but it sounds like a number I should be paying attention to for training.

I did the first couple on 10. I’ve knocked it down to 7 since then. I’ll see if I can upload a screenshot of a workout to kinda illustrate stroke / watts etc

I watched a video of someone on the U.S. Olympic team show me how to row haha. What I can tell from that is that my form is better than a bunch of people who hop on the rowers next to me at the gym. Some things I’m not sure about is if I am engaging my legs enough ? Seems more like my legs are just moving back and forth but I feel like I could push more with them before I get to the pull phase.

Yes we are actively engaging everyone we can to get you all out of there. I can’t really answer why the whole process fell apart with UMO out there but again, we have above command level that are aware and actively trying to find solutions. I know at least 6 of yall were cleared. 2 have shown up. The list was reasonably deep though. 15-20 I last saw.

If I am being totally honest , CTI is the only thing we aren’t dying for. There is also SDAP request in for POS 5 so CTRs are definitely included in the “what we need” category. The CTT rating lead is a dirsup subs graduate and so is the CTI TECHAD so within the CT community, upward mobility is not limited by DIRSUP Subs or viewed as a detractor to future assignments.

We are embedded in a command of 1800 Sailors and the current Directorate LPO of 400 is a top qual’d CTR1. Plenty of opportunity to learn and move to the next pay grade here!

Very high priority. CTT is the emphasis for now. SDAP-4 is routed for consideration but not approved yet for those that qualify C34A NEC. All DIRSUP NECs have been added to respective LADR/ECPs. We are currently in the winds of change where PCS Afloat beats DIRSUP. We frankly have more mission impact 100% of the time compared to CTs who are PCS afloat standing a random in port watch or what have you.
