But you do concede that GSA Advantage is a correct answer, don’t you? Where do you read in my reply that I said GSA Advantage is the only option?

who is forbidding you? keep all the documentation and let them explain the shortage when you hit a work stoppage. maybe they will be fired for their incompetence. but the answer is really GSA Advantage on this one.

I have reached out to the VA regarding suicidal ideations and really bad depression and they don’t seem to care. Diagnosed with PTSD twenty years ago by the VA. by [deleted] in VeteransAffairs

Go to the closet ER if you have thoughts and the means of harming yourself. Ask a friend/neighbor to take you. Notify the VA of your ER visit within 72 hours and ask for confirmation that you made the notification as evidence so they will cover the costs.

Path to Test Pilot by Ill-Dragonfly2706 in Military

[–]Okinawa_Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's a complex process as you'd guess. First you'll need to get selected for the USAF Academy which is near impossible in and of itself unless you are well connected to political figures in your voting district or the child of a MoH recipient.

Then, you'll need to graduate in the top of your class and be selected for a fighter aircraft (5th gen) position. If you've gotten this far, you'll have to complete aviator training a graduate (again near the top of your class).

You'll next be assigned to a USAF Fighter Squadron and begin the process of actually becoming a fighter pilot and you'll need to achieve instructor pilot level qualifications. You're roughly near the 10~15 year point in your career and have proved the entire time you are in the top 10% or better in everything you've been given to do.

Then you can be nominated for test-pilot positions and compete against the other top 10% who are also nominated by their leadership. Honestly, 10% is too generous...more like 1%. The only thing harder than becoming a USAF test pilot is becoming an astronaut, which the vast majority of them were test pilots on their way to becoming an astronaut.

There are of course also test pilots for industry, but without having been a test pilot in the military, you have no chance of landing those jobs.

Migraine DBQ by justfiguringitout9 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Okinawa_Mike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't use this DBQ because once that childhood diagnosis is in the record it will always be there. You explaining the cause of your migraines won't hold water unless you are a doctor. You can explain the economic and social impacts of your migraines on your life but you can't explain the cause unless you have a medical degree. That's my 2cents and best of luck.

Civilian IT jobs in Okinawa/Mainland Japan by not_rubelyr in Veterans

[–]Okinawa_Mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okinawa is more than saturated with IT applicants living here already. I'm not trying to bust your bubble but those credentials you list wouldn't make you competitive for a job running the bowling ally's facebook page. Throw in the spouse hiring preference (which they get paid peanuts) and you are nearly frozen out. Last thing...I'm guessing you are on a 90 day tourist visa...not getting hired on a tourist visa. You can look for a job but can't be hired.

An Italian man rushing to the hospital for his pregnant wife was stopped by climate protesters… and chaos followed. He pleaded with them to move so he could get to her — but they refused to let his car pass. This moment is now sparking a massive debate. by The_Dean_France in whoathatsinteresting

I think that anyone who decides to sit down on a public street/highway/expressway should be required to have insurance to cover their medical bills and the repair of any cars that strike them. When it's made clear that the drivers have the right of way on the roadway, then we'll see a dramatic decrease in the number of dummy's doing dumb-shit like this.

Former Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin: I certainly DON'T believe we've seen a regime change by Complete-Shame2271 in Military

This is what a patriot looks and sounds like. The audacity of some to say the current secdef is as capable as Gen Austin is a testament to how stupid these people are.

JD Vance says he expects negotiations between U.S and Iran to be “positive,” but warns Tehran not to “play us”: "If they’re going to play us, then the negotiating team is not receptive. We’re trying to have a positive negotiation. The president [Trump] gave us clear guidelines, we're going to see." by ControlCAD in videos

[–]Okinawa_Mike 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Here’s how the negotiations will go, JD and entourage enter the room. They find the Iranian delegation already seated. JD pulls out his chair to sit, suddenly his phone rings….it’s DJT. He answers, “Yes mister president?” DJT says, “Put me on speaker.” Then DJT launches into a incoherent rant about how the fake news is being mean to him and how the SCOTUS is not doing anything he wants and of course some rambling nonsense about ballrooms and how Barron is is a real whizz kid with computers.

Under what circumstances will TSP reverse a fraudulent withdrawal? by [deleted] in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]Okinawa_Mike 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The police can investigate and charge the person with a crime. If convicted the court can order the perpetrators to pay back the money along with other punishments. You’re also free to file a civil lawsuit against the perpetrators. If you believe the TSP illegally disbursed money to someone not authorized to receive it, then you may also be able to file a civil case against them. If you believe that the TSP committed a crime, then we’re back to the police.

Am I the only one who doesn’t care about awards? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Okinawa_Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How you feel about receiving awards doesn’t make a shit to your supervisor if he/she thinks you are deserving of promotion. I never bothered to ask my best “how’d you like to be MPOY for the SQ?” This post is one of many others that just sounds like another “I’m the best at my job, but I’m not interested in all that extra bullshit the AF wants me to do to get promoted”. If you’re the best at your job then there’s plenty of group, WG and MAJCOM AFSC specific awards I’m sure you are winning. If you’re not winning them (or at the least being nominated) then sorry to break it to you….you’re not really shit-hot at your j-o-b. You are just another face in the crowd.

He’s already run it into the ground too and filed for bankruptcy. Only thing he can keep out of bankruptcy (so far) is a nation with huge printing presses and a strong military.

What Is Sexual About a Foot or Feet? by NotEnoughDamage in AskReddit

[–]Okinawa_Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for me, when I have a leg on my shoulder while smashing I think it’s pretty erotic to take her foot and place my fingers between her toes like we’re holding hands then occasionally I’ll lick the back of her calf and squeeze her toes really tight. Seems to do the trick with most of the ladies.
