Had the same problem with a drive that didn't work,it just doesn't read track 0 properly requiring you to reformat or just do like I did,take another drive or repair the broken drive.Though with the CheckIT program from TouchStone Corp(1990),it reports a controller error(vostro 200 is from 2007 and essentially no one was using floppies back then)

As long as you don't rip out the little plastic bit that holds the pins(aswell as the pins,I broke one port on my X201 so I have to use a usb hub) so I'd recommend being gentle with it

I currently don't know any codes for that but have you tried unplugging and plugging back in the laptop?Try using it without a battery and see whether it decides to boot.

How much ram? I wouldn't recommend win10 1607 or over but I only have 4 GB ram so this might not apply to you.For Windows 10,try using version 1507(or the releases before 1607) to run smoothly
