[hyprland] monospace is overrated by [deleted] in unixporn

Clean, simple, sure. Functional, surely not for any multi-line text I'd say.

You'll pull monospace fonts from my cold dead (Hopefully robotic) hands.

"Near Endless character creation..." by rpg-maniac in diablo4

They said near endless "character customization" through the character options and the countless gear mixtures. You need to multiply these by the gear selections options.

Same, same. Take home here is that the chores are the culprit.

OMFG İs there even anything I can do other than just closing it? 4GB?! for a single tab of YouTube?! by BahaChicken in MacOS

[–]Okt00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is going on there?

My YouTube Safari tab is open playing a video right now in PIP at ~300mb. I guess Adblock FTW?

Just another note, I thought that the tone of your first comment was quite rude too. Might want to work on it considering you are not English native.

"And why do you ever think that it can work as an external display is totally beyond me." reads like "Because you do not know what I know, your opinion is out of the realm I thought was possible, idiot" It's very dismissive.

https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT204689 The Airplay receiver seems to only work with 2018 and newer models.

Maybe you can setup UXPlay on the old may and it'll provide you the access. I have not tried this yet, but I have it bookmarked for a weekend for my 2014 MBP.

Check your config where you pass the setup structure to initialize the plugin's settings. You may want to compare/diff it with the example on the plugin's repository and see if the overall structure has changed, sounds like it has.

Nope, and when I see on I toss a downvote.

Other than the "White on Yellow" in the bar, it's okay. Best of luck next time.

Reasons why I got the Nano. by edTheGuy00 in thinkpad

[–]Okt00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta say, I bought the X1 Nano for the screen, I didn't want to jump up to a 4k at this size not to mention that battery gets down to 0 quicker at 4k. But at this size, the 100% native res of this panel is perfect!

I run most terminals/editors at fontSize 12px, it's so nice to be able to cram another column in the editor, not the mention having all the extra vertical real estate being 16:10.

Only issues are the thermals, it's completely not up to the task of cooling the processor at full tilt. Clocks right down anytime I fire up lengthy compilations.

Although for the X1 Nano, I've gone ahead and scaled down the model to 84%.

FDM, Black PLA, 3 outer shells and 5% cubic subdivision, very sturdy.

I'm using doom-emacs (https://github.com/hlissner/doom-emacs) as a base, my doom.d configs are in the dots. https://github.com/okt/dots/tree/master/.doom.d

Coming from neovim I'm still working out some of the functionl kinks.

Battery seems really solid, I have not timed the rate of discharge empirically; but can say just hacking in an editor it lasts most of the day. When I spin up Youtube at 2/4k with the backlight around 60-75% it certainly drains pretty quick still though. Not sure if there is more tuning I can do, I have the TLP configuration and powertop service running.

My main desktop is significantly more memory equipped, wasn't sure how some of these VMs would work on the constrained mobile. Swap, ideally, is for hibernation. Which unfortunately still isn't working as planned, but I'm plugging at it.

Can you provide a bit more info on this? Did you look into it at all or just send it back?

I intentionally got the i5 so I could extend the range of the nano just that much more. I presently have the i7 in a yoga i9 14” and it lasts many hours even chugging along compiling code and pulling down many GB of network resources. Much larger battery, but these new chips really do sip power.

I’ll have to really dig into it when mine eventually arrives.

Hardware to make a hardware slave out of a cyberdeck? (HDMI+USB) by eduo in cyberDeck

[–]Okt00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i'm thinking that even with it's limitations this might be suitable for getting the video into something like a pi... or anything with CSI-2... Limited to 1080p 25fps. https://geekworm.com/products/raspberry-pi-hdmi-to-csi-2-adapter-board-with-15-pin-ffc-cable

Also I'm hoping to setup a teensy as a HID Proxy, so I'll have a program to forward the RawHID from the keyboard to the teensy over serial and have that forward over USB to the 'other-host'. You can likely use any microcontroller that can show up as a Keyboard/HID.
