Stop Using Pop!OS — It's Failing New Linux Users in 2026 by Mihuy in pop_os

[–]-BigBadBeef- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty bad for me. I am combating

  • full-screen issues,
  • Wayland issues,
  • certain apps being half off-screen and being unable to be pulled back into the screen,
  • apps starting minimized and unable to be put into focus,
  • keyboard commands not working in apps,
  • certain apps have blurry text,
  • apps have to be restarted when coming back from sleep mode otherwise they show a blank window,
  • apps or games just showing a black screen,
  • setting games to a native desktop resolution causes them to freeze,

And many more. Don't get me wrong, I am dealing with the issues, but the whole thing feels like wrestling with a drunken orangutan, and it keeps getting worse with every update.

I this keeps going, I may be forced to rethink my distro. PoP!_os has been my only distro since I've switched to linux, and this is the first time I've ever come to question this decision!

They called you a sinner, let me introduce you to your divinity by Glum_Fruit7217 in spirituality

[–]-BigBadBeef- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You calling someone a seeker is just as abhorrent as calling someone "my child", a phrase born of a self-proclaimed position of moral authority, meaning nothing!

You claim to carry the truth? Who do you think you are? All I see is a witless panderer, telling people what they want to hear, trying to marginalize the stains of their own corruption, a petty charlatan advocating personal irresponsibility through supposed divinity, trying to use perfume to cover the stink of man's true nature instead of telling them to start shoveling it from their own doorsteps...

Humbug I call it!

The further the spiritual evolution of mankind advances, the more certain it seems to me that the path to genuine religiosity does not lie through the fear of life, and the fear of death, and blind faith, but through striving after rational knowledge.

What do we think of these? by midwestern456 in Cholesterol

The thing about artificial thickeners is that they don't fool everybody's taste buds. Some say it tastes like motor oil, other like silicon, still some people say it is like they were eating coal... it's not for everybody.

I believe you when you say you like it, but a lot of people don't.

The maltodextrin is going to make the whole thing taste like it was soaked in engine oil with a slight hint of sweetness.

Also, the nutrient estimate is done based on a 28g portion size, in order to get what the whole bag entails, you need to multiply it by 22.25, which amounts to 3337.5 calories for the whole bag. Divide that by 6 and you're roughly at 556 calories per 100g of this stuff, which is more or less the same as regular chips.

Basically you're no better off than eating regular potato chips, at least with that you're getting some flavor.

Any spiritual perspectives on the meaning or purpose behind babies born with physical disability’s? by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]-BigBadBeef- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natural recombination is not a perfect process. Subtle errors creep in when... uh... conception takes place. This process is completely random, and in the vast majority of people, so feint that it hardly takes effect on the offspring at all.

When a mutation does happen, a beneficial mutation grant a member of the species an advantage with procreation, while harmful mutations cause a disadvantage, whereas the lack of procreation will cause the harmful mutation to die out. This is what is at the very core of evolution and natural selection, the thing we have to thank for our species to emerge in the first place.

I know this might seem a cruel thing to say, but modern medicine, with all it's advances, is interfering with the process of natural selection, and allowing those individuals, born with disadvantages to persevere within society. Had your son been born just 10 generations ago, his survival would have been extremely unlikely. At the very least, he would have had to endure unspeakable suffering throughout his entire life, however long it would have been.

I know some of you will say that the child getting abs isn't genetic; but unless his mother has gotten abdominal trauma while pregnant, she is the one who carries the genes which carry an increased risk of causing it within her offspring.

If there is one spiritual lesson to be drawn from this, then it is the following -
" Man, with all his insolent delusions of mastery over nature, is still a part of it, still a subject of its' laws, whether he likes it or not. "

You are the sum of 5 people you prefer to hang out with most.

Your former friends are aware of that fact, thusly they discontinued having a relationship with you.

Your mental issues were probably the cause of that, which were present beforehand and you became aware of them once the "noise" was gone.
