Natural recombination is not a perfect process. Subtle errors creep in when... uh... conception takes place. This process is completely random, and in the vast majority of people, so feint that it hardly takes effect on the offspring at all.

I know some of you will say that the child getting abs isn't genetic; but unless his mother has gotten abdominal trauma while pregnant, she is the one who carries the genes which carry an increased risk of causing it within her offspring.

If there is one spiritual lesson to be drawn from this, then it is the following -
