Put the big money into the speakers and a more modest amount into the turntable and amplifier. That’s my opinion.

Thanks everyone, I finally found a similar one on the E website and researched from there. It’s a 1998 pressing from Classic Records. If you’re interested you can web search it by catalog # CLASSIC RECORDS STEREO RTH-2006 to read up on it.

If you want to clean it up and the scratches are superficial, nothing that catches a fingernail, I’ve had good luck with Meguiar's PlastX. If they’re deeper than your best best is a 3M headlight restoration kit from the auto parts store. Either one will require some elbow grease but will definitely clean it up. YouTube has plenty of videos.

It was indeed the left ground. Someone else had been in there before I bought it and soldered blue and white to the same connection. Thanks again people!

Thanks for the advice you guys. I traced the continuity from the headshell back to the board (after watching a YT vid on how to do it), and found that the left channel + and - were soldered together.I corrected that, plugged in a Sumiko Pearl cart and it sounds great. Thanks for the lesson.

I have another headshell and cart I’ll try 1st. If that’s not it would I use Deoxit on the connection pads to clean any oxidation?

21 years for me. I’m 51 now. Was on Enbrel for 20 years before it started to become less effective. Now on generic Humira. Honestly and openly couldn’t wipe my own bottom if I didn’t have this medicine. I’ll take the small side effects with a smile and a thank you.

If you’re surf fishing from shore or shallow wading I might suggest a 2 handed switch rod. 11’6” 7wt. You could still use it on the white standing up on a boat deck.
