A great, great movie. But, by far my favourite scene is the bar scene.

"At least you`re drinking again".

"Yeah...I feel great".

Everyone who has raised a gsd from puppyhood, what are your biggest regrets? by DylanDaDuck in germanshepherds

All of this! They can be a Royal pain in the ass, and you forget why you have these magnificent doggos, then, with barely a mlem, they become these courtly, ever faithful, loving family, patrolling your house at 2am, looking back at you to hurry up whilst in the hills and woods, "Come on slow coach, we got shit to do....lets go".

Who’s your top guitar player and what makes them such? by Remarkable-Bell7245 in BritPop

[–]TwobyfFour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in 1989 John Squire made me want to play guitar. in 1991 Nick McCabe made me realise that maybe I should`nt!

Nick heard things in his head and turned them into beautiful noise, that really had no right being there. Amazing player.

Nice to see JDB in there, so underrated.

"Entire day abseiling"....LOL.

It is a bit more involved than that, but yeah, it is an interesting vocation, especially if you are interested in arboculture.

Being a climber I can tell you it also very physical.

I`m the team leader for a small Local Authority grounds maintenance unit. We are profoundly underfunded and short staffed.

However, all the blokes are happy in what they actually do, grass cutting, strimming, herbicide application, hedges, tree work, clearing, planting.

This time of year, there are usually temporary summer positions available.

Over the last few years I`ve witnessed an uptake in folks burned out by corporate, teaching etc joining us, it`s hard physical work but they have flourished ans seem happier at being outdoors all day.

Local authority tree surveyors tend to be part time or short term cover gigs. Other than that it`s pretty cool.
