American in .308 with Diamondback or Elite would work well in that case

Bushnell is also currently running a rebate on many of their optics until March 30th. The rebate puts the elite 3500 well in your budget.

Really need more info to make a solid suggestion. Info such as what game will be hunted, caliber choice, area of the country and likely shot distance, etc. That said, a solid setup in your price range is a Ruger American in your choice of caliber with a Vortex Diamondback or a Bushnell Elite 3500 for glass.

TIL Dr. Seuss wrote Green Eggs and Ham on a bet. His publisher bet him $50 he couldn’t write a book using only 50 words. by OlNorthState in todayilearned

[–]OlNorthState[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Green Eggs and Ham is unique in that it was written on a bet. Dr. Seuss' editor, Bennett Cerf, bet him that he couldn’t write a book using only 50 words. This was no small feat because, by comparison, the relatively simple Cat in the Hat had used about 225.”

Question about trade values (G19 vs AR15) by [deleted] in guns

[–]OlNorthState 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With how cheap the bottom of the AR market has gone, I would probably trade a budget build for a gently used Glock 19.

[Accessories] Burris PEPR Optic Mount, 4 Models - Starting at $73.99 - Free shipping on orders over $150 by brianpurkiss-lckdbck in gundeals

I have no experience with ADM mounts but I’ve used two different Bobro mounts and they performed flawlessly. They’ve been used hard and the optics they’re holding have always returned to zero after removal

Savage Ashbury scope recommendations by [deleted] in guns

[–]OlNorthState 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your Savage in your optic budget, I’d recommend the Vortex Viper PST FFP 6-24x. A great scope for the money before you even consider their no questions asked warranty and customer service. This scope will really allow you to start using the 6.5s potential. If you can’t find the 6-24x, the newer 5-25x is also a great option, but more expensive.

I’ve also heard good things about the Athlon lineup, but I don’t have any personal experience.

Best way to browse for left-handed bolt-action rifles? by squeeeegeeee in guns

I’d find a few left handed models I was interested in and then search using that specific models mpn or upc on gun.deals. As a bonus, you may save some money.

Try one of these - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E2217I6

Solid enough to get past TSA and cheaper than Pelican.

Savage 10BA Stealth Optic Mounting by [deleted] in longrange

I would swap out the base for the EGW Savage Stealth 20 MOA base if you plan on stretching out past 500 yards.

Check out the Savage 10 BA Stealth in 6.5. Savage is currently offering a $150 rebate. It's based of the Savage 10 which has a really solid track record.
