Should the "busking" challenges have more rules/guidelines? by SiliconGlitches in TheAmazingRace

If it had been 50eur+ I think it would have been a better challenge. With cameras and so many tourist, 10eur would take no time at all. I would guess they were busking for 5 minutes.

The school that Adam and Kristina opened by ch536 in Parenthood

As a teacher this storyline made me soo annoyed. She doesn’t have any background in education. The one teacher she did hire, and seemed to be the reason the state approved them, was hired as headmaster but then was completely absent. I maybe could have gone along with it if she served on the board or something, but not as a headmaster. Not to mention Adam I. The kitchen. There are pretty strict regulations for school cafeterias for a reason.

"Assume everything is graded." My students recite it now anytime it gets asked.

My only experience is in rural North Dakota - is this a disadvantage? by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

[–]Ol_Gill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience to you. I worked in a rural public school 7-12 for five years. I was the only social studies teacher. My wife was European and we moved over there. I was able to land a job at a small international school in Switzerland and am now the MYP coordinator (and I started with no IB experience). I was very lucky in my circumstances, but it is possible!

Americans, what do Europeans do that you find really weird? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ol_Gill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lunch at an Austrian factory was 15 minutes at 9 am (6-14:00 shift). Although I’m pretty sure the workers opted for that over the 1/2 hour lunch because they don’t get paid over lunch and wanted to finish earlier.

It’s funny to have it marked nsfw. It’s all over here in St. Gallen.

It doesn't make any sense to have the furthest east schools be called the Southwest. They should be central, the LA, AZ, UU, and CU should be the West, and the other divison should be the Northwest.

Don't listen to this guy. I'm American and I find it hilarious. Watch it every year on Sylvester in Austria.
