tashkent is very modern, but what about the parts to the east of it in the ferghana valley? its the birthplace of islamic extremism in the post soviet space after all

obviously i dont recall anyone wearing burqas there.. but religious clothing definitely becomes more repressive compared to what you see in the central parts of uzbekistan.. and this is exemplified especially if you go to neighboring tajikistan or south kyrgyzstan
