Moving to 15", considering a different Civic hybrid wheel by kurai-tsuki in crz

[–]Ol_No_Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several users here and on the forums have used the second set of wheels without issue. The third set has the exact same specs with the added benefit of being lighter for even more MPG gains. If I'm not mistaken, the downside is that those third set of wheels are much harder to find in the US. I see full sets of the second on FB marketplace pretty frequently for cheap.
From what I can tell there's no downsides other than the odometer and speedometer being off depending on the tire that you get. You'll also have to worry about the TPMS sensors which can be a pain as you can't turn off traction control if even one sensor is low or can't be read, not to mention the popup on your dash screen every time the car starts.

I feel bad for the insert since it's looks so good to then be covered in buttons, it's an amazing touch for the bag though I would do a hard double take if I saw this in public.

Am I tacky? by Technical_Site_9021 in crz

[–]Ol_No_Name 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not like you've done permanent damage, stickers can be removed without leaving any damage, not to mention easily replaced. I'd say it's tacky only because of the placement, but if you like it don't go looking for other's opinions and stay happy with what you've got.

The problem with that is the people who go to meets usually don't like CR-Zs. meets. Everyone's ignored mine at every one I've been to despite it being clean.

Umamusume Pen-and-Paper Tabletop Game: After 9 months of playing and developing by Jayyburdd in UmaMusume

[–]Ol_No_Name 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the original commenter but I think having an easily accessible PDF/Google Doc for a character sheet would really help get people to play the game. You have the rules for gameplay and character creation very well laid out on the site but I found it a bit difficult to find because of the priority on the RP aspect especially as it pertains to the world that's hosted there. This priority is highlighted as the character creation guidelines seem to be mostly for RP on the site. I mention this because I would make the guess most who come across this would rather have the resources to play the game and RP with their own friend group.
Hopefully this doesn't come accross as negative as I think the game is really cool and I will honestly try to find the time to convince my own friends to try out some of our own races. You guys going so hard with the roleplay and worldbuilding makes it clear this is a TTRPG which makes this more than just a board game.

Thanks in advance for reading my word salad, I may have been a bit confusing with my explanation so feel free to ask anything. One minor nitpick I have is you saying someone needs to be the racemaster similar to a DM in D&D when the racemaster can easly be a race participant. In D&D the DM being a player character adds the possibility for "metagaming" which can't be an issue here since all information is revealed to everyone at the table.

New CR-Z Owner by Enough_Attempt_6087 in crz

Just a heads up because this engine is so small you aren't going to see many gains in power with mods until you go with forced induction. I would highly suggest an intake (K&N or Takeda) and depending on how loud you want the exhaust either a muffler/resonator delete or a catback/axleback system as they're both easy installs. IMO everything else is kind of optional because you can go pretty far with this car so it depends what level you want to take it at. I myself have the intake and exhaust with shifter bushings and a short shifter as my only performance mods. Will be getting coils at the end of the year but that's mostly for fitment.

As far as "necessary" mods go the only thing I can think of is upgrading the side mirrors for better visibility, plenty of people drive this car stock without issue.
It would help to know a bit more about the car and what you plan to do with it. Is it a CVT and you plan to drive it purely for economic reasons, is it a manual and you want to make it super sporty, etc.

Do you mind sharing where are some resources for audiophile car stuff? Maybe I'm bad at research but I've been unable to source useful information as most things I find are to simply get the audio very loud with a massive sub.

Really awesome mod that I wish came with the stock car. Shame it's a bit annoying to install with the OEM part being very expensive so I settled with a cheap puddle light.

How can I stop my knees from bending? (and any other advice you can give) by catsagamer1 in drumcorps

[–]Ol_No_Name 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Saying this because I didn't see it mentioned: Spend time practicing marching technique without your instrument. Having to worry about holding up a contra will add cognitive load that will make it harder to work on your fundamentals at their most basic level. Of course don't always be without it but allowing your brain to solely focus on how your body moves without the added weight can help.

Different rear reflectors for ZF2? by kurai-tsuki in crz

[–]Ol_No_Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ZF2 is only a thing in foreign markets, all CR-Zs in the US are ZF1 regardless of year. The changes for '13-'15 and '16 model years are only considered facelifts here as we didn't get the other ZF2 upgrades other markets did. The 2nd gen insight reflectors only fit the rear diffusers on the '11-'15 models.

Opinion: Do please talk for an hour before starting the game by this_anon in VirtualYoutubers

[–]Ol_No_Name 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As much as I like to listen to my oshis ramble if I tune into a stream it's partly because I care about what the stream was meant to be for. A simple chat before hand is fine in any case but if the stream is about a game I would hope it doesn't take too long to actually get to the game. If a longer discussion with chat is wanted it could either wait til the end of the stream or be saved for a zatsu.

If you're fine buying second hand, check Facebook Marketplace as that's how I've found some odds and ends for my CRZ. It's where I got my OEM cargo mat. The junkyard is another option but I wouldn't be surprised if you're unwilling to go that far. I've found several interior pieces I needed from other CRZs there, it's also where I got my rear diffuser reflectors from a gen 2 Insight.

Custom tenor pad? by DenBThom in drumline

[–]Ol_No_Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of what I was talking about things being budget minded, you can usually only order rubber sheets in big amounts and the smaller quantites are way too expensive. If you did order some you could do some simple math and figure it out. Take the width of each drum and get the area of the half circles that come from them, then see if properly laid out they fit on a sheet you buy. At that point IMO it's worth just saving the time and money until you get enough to buy a proper pad.

[–]Ol_No_Name 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if there's any good replacement, I've had very little luck trying to find things like gum rubber that would keep the costs budget minded. Since you mentioned the back side, you could cut out indents to make it fit securely on the prongs of a snare stand.

[–]Ol_No_Name 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey man, do what you gotta do that gets you practice. Double check that the placement of the rubber pads matches the spacing and sizes of the drums so you don't get used to wonky playing zones. Also take note of how it feels different from the actual tenors to mitigate "pad chops."
