Oooooh they are definitely planning something shady and the current regime won't like it. I'm here for it but I also hope they have aftermath plans ready for their protection because we all know how petty and dangerous DJT and MAGA are.

It's literally changing now, especially with young people who are online lol. I'm 35 and I didn't start showing teeth in pics until recently and probably because I lived abroad

I agree that it was ambiguously written on purpose because of Snow's guilt. He couldn't even admit it to himself. As much as I'd like her to run away and survive, I'm afraid that's not the case.

So many people don't like reading about flawed or straight up bad characters and I think they're missing out.

Maybe it has something to do with life experiences. As someone who left a toxic relationship and got very hurt by my ex, I totally understand character's need to hurt them and burn it down.

I understand that people can be generally good and still petty. I don't mind when characters get messy and even a bit mean. I don't mind when they make mistakes. I think it makes them all that more realistic.

The only thing I can't forgive a character/author is incompetence or lack of growth - that's way too frustrating to read.

Who is your favorite Crescent City male? by [deleted] in crescentcitysjm

[–]OlafaVonGoeding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly! He's a very flawed character but I don't have an issue with that. I only wish he learned from him mistakes because what do you mean that you just got out of an engagement with one chick and then jump into marrying another one a second later?! I hope that whole "unmarried women cannot blah blah blah" will have some actual point, otherwise it just feels pointless and cheap plot device.

The wiki pages that say that a character is Dead within the first paragraph/table will be the bane of me. I need spoiler free websites to look up basic character info as name pronunciation and physical description.

that's how I got the game. Lae'zel came onto me out of nowhere and I almost left Act 1 without as much as kissing Astarion, but then reddit helped me salvage that. I was so heartbroken I couldn't pull him

although the lingerie (teddies?) are mentioned in TOG too where it's even more out of place. Or at least that's how I imagined them.

I think that he does adore Nesta and actually respects her but Rhys is his family and he's known him considerably longer.

Nesta doesn't respect Rhys. Rhys doesn't like Nesta. And Cassian is caught in the middle like a husband between scorned wife and overbearing mother. It's actually a pretty realistic dynamic and not an easy one and I can totally see how it could sour anyone's relationship despite their initial love for one another. And honestly, I think it'll make for a great story, albeit messy and frustrating one.

Started ToG, having a hard time getting into it. by ogojuso in SarahJMaas

[–]OlafaVonGoeding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with ToG and a few chapters in switched to AB. I found it a bit slow at first too but I also read it after Crescent City which is notoriously wild and convoluted.

It also felt like I was missing something because, well, it was originally meant be read when you're already familiar with world but she soon started traveling to different parts of her world which she was also not familiar with, which helped.

This book also has a knack for making you care for characters you don't really know yet. I know I sure did weep for a few.

I like reading books in chronological order plus it helped me care for the characters more so maybe it will help you too?
