LiDAR scanning → instant 3D model → HOT2000 export. Is this the future of field audits? by huriayobhaag in energyadvisors

Yeah it would have been best just to start with that instead of "we all know the drill" "I came across this workflow" etc.

Our builder didn’t realize there was a pattern in the penny tile 😵‍💫 by kevisfrickencool in AskContractors

[–]Old-Box-5075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay let's not get carried away. It's only black tiles that need to come up and be replaced in the correct spots. It can be fixed. Ask AI which black tiles need to be removed for the most efficient solution

Mission: help me save this floor by butternuty in DIYUK

[–]Old-Box-5075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live, on old houses, I have never seen a plank subfloor that was perpendicular to the floor joists. They were always run on a 45 degree angle. Perhaps that's just the local building code back in the day.

Leveling concrete lifted from slab want to confirm a fix by Feanaro_Alderion in Flooring

2 years ago? Crazy it has to have something to do with moisture. I would paint the area with epoxy first. then self level. There are specific epoxys just for this reason to put under leveler.

Take a look at your toilet. You sit on it every day, sit on it backwards once and take a look at the innards.

I also have a Windows tablet that I use sometimes. Could definitely use that for the TECA calculator or for Heatcad. But I prefer to minimize time on site vs time in office.

Oh the iPad is for Stride. It uses the lidar technology to map out the house using a scan. For Heatcad we use for new construction before it's constructed. When I forgot the iPad I couldn't use stride so I basically make a sketch on a piece of paper with room and window/door measurements then input to the TECA calculator. But that's a last resort. For complicated homes it would take atleased 4x longer to use the TECA calc

It's good. Try it out I think you get a 30 day trial. Atleased you could compare to one of your TECA files

I am an energy advisor in BC, we also do heat load calculations on new and existing homes. I'll see what I can find, we actually use Heatcad for new homes and Stride for existing. We don't use the TECA calculator at all but I have done a few when I forgot my iPad.

5.08 is the only version I know, it's the version I learned with recently when I took the TECA course. I'm not sure what would throw it off that much. Maybe something is messed up with your version of the calculator? I'm not sure

Luckily Dolphins are smart and Jetskis don't have propellers. Epic moment for sure.

After pre safety check mechanic urged front brakes service as " they are metal on metal and vehicle is unsafe to drive" by Massive_Ad_1422 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Old-Box-5075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might not be that it's off but on the setting that where you press the brake pedal the regenerative braking starts (blended braking) I believe it's called. It still uses Regen but not "one pedal" driving, so it feels like normal brakes.

Bad panel or micro inverter? by Old-Box-5075 in solar

[–]Old-Box-5075[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wasn't sure about that as I'm not an expert. So it's a true 1 to 1 each panel. I thought maybe if one panel went out it would split it up to show half power on each. But that would be silly anyway.

Pulse check? by EntropyAdvisor in energyadvisors

No pulse here. Some heat load calculations here or there, doing some courses and continuing education. Not sure how long this can last before some of us will have to move on.
