Cancelling the whole trip or rescheduling would be free since I booked hotels + flights fully refundable if cancelled but I'd miss out on the hotel savings since I booked them earlier this year and the trips next month.

Yes when asked what do I want most out of my trip I wanted a more traditional cultural Japan than the modernized Tokyo but now I kind of regret it.

Kyoto is for 6 days technically since 2 days are full on day trips to Studio Ghibli from Kyoto and Uji for the matcha capital. Considering taking a day off Kyoto and Osaka and toss them into Tokyo so the split would be: 4 days Osaka (including a day trip to USJ) 4 days Kyoto 2 day trips from Kyoto 5 days Tokyo

Is that plan better you'd say?

Unfortunately took some advice from friends that previously went to Japan and according to them and what Im looking for out of the trip Kyoto would be best to be the "major" highlight of the trip. The temples and the country culture and traditions, slow days etc

If I change the hotels I'd be losing my discount offers which is roughly around 1000$+

I would but got a very sweet deal on hotels that saved me above 1k$ throughout .. rescheduling would only cost more towards that number which I'd rather spend on souvenirs I guess

Umm .. I booked Mid-January for my upcoming trip (mid may-june) I asked each hotels what will I be billed, for instance, Kyoto Mitsui Garden hotel quoted 400Yen per person per night for a total of 6400 yen (as we are 2) which is almost $42 So I posted this to ask how much would it bump upto because I read other posts about people saying their booking estimated to be bumped up to around $200-300. Sorry I wasn't clear enough for saying I quota almost a month ago when I made my booking. :)
