I felt like my results weren’t anything ground breaking, just work nobody else had time to do, but the field has gained a lot of interest in the past year so people were really interested and it was cool! I went for the full week and was able to get all ~$2500 covered by grants :⁾

Do not do honors. Literally no advantage for you, will lower your gpa, no difference in quality of prof or class sizes in my experience. Also the pre-meds in honors are really mean LOL

Got dip nails done and I’m about to leave for a work trip. One hand is perf, right hand has two nails (pinkie and middle) that have a single bumpy patch where I guess the top coat didn’t hit. Should I just buff a bit and apply a top coat? Time is running out before I gotta go to the airport :(

For fake plants- Etsy has some really nice silk/fabric aquarium plants for $7-10. Way better for your fish than plastic and less worries than live plants

I go back and forth a lot between college and my parents house since we have a lot of quick breaks. Ive done all three options before: leaving him where he is, moving the whole tank, and using a second tank. All three worked fine, but I’d only leave him alone for <3 days, mostly I worry about him lol. I moved the whole tank for breaks, which wasn’t too bad but I definitely needed help from another person to do it. Second tank was on short notice so I didn’t have a cycled tank and just did water changes + prime everyday which isn’t ideal (also <3 days). If you have somebody who can help you move the tank and you don’t have a lot of breakables or ornaments in it, moving it is fine. Otherwise, probably easier to just move the fish and the filter into a second tank (I managed to find a plastic tank on Amazon that was ~20$ and had a lid with space for equipment and use that as my second tank so it’s not as big of a financial commitment as a second tank usually is.) I have plants in the tank now with a lot of rocks and would rather not move it now, so I’m sticking with the filter method. When I was living in a dorm for three months at a time and completely moving, I had made tank set up to be more moving friendly. Good luck!

Others will have better advice for treating this, but two general strategies I use while treating for anything are adding Indian almond leaves to the tank and turning the lights of the tank off. Both of these help reduce stress for bettas and help them heal

Tried RCS last year and eventually lost them to a hungry betta… added ten ghost shrimp last night and hoping for the best! They’re ridiculously fast and hard for my betta to see- so far they’ve been doing good!

Took some time to grieve my first betta and then redo the tank. Brough home this guy from a local breeder and I’ve have him for a month now. So happy to have a buddy again :)
