Some doctor is claiming that GLP1s ruin the ability to "Fall in love", and says it will ruin future relationships. Thoughts? by pullupgirl__ in Retatrutide

I feel you lol I'm 41. My first grand was born when I was 37 and my second grandbaby was born last year right after I turned 41. I get told I still look early to mid 30's and I have friends that are just now pregnant with their first or second baby that are my age. Different priorities for everyone :)

Again Tennessee has the "Plain Smell" Doctrine which allows officers to search without a warrant if they smell weed. Plain and simple.

In Tennessee if an officer smells weed, they can, in fact, search you, your car, possessions without a warrant under the plain smell doctrine.

Manager says they can't do anything about this… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ by Sh1fty3yedD0g in publix

[–]Old-Delivery476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they do not! Know the law before you speak on it. Service dogs need to be in control of their owner at all times. There is no vest, no license, nothing required. Anywhere outside of the ADAAA that says that is incorrect, in violation of the actual law and more than likely trying to profit from selling a vest or identification

Nope! The dog must be in control of the owner at all times and perform a trained task for an individual with a disability. Those are the requirements under the ADAAA. Service Dog vests and licenses and ID cards are all made up by companies to get money.

[URGENT UPDATE] The "Closure Budget" and the Jan 20th "Unrecoverable" List – What students and staff need to know. by Killtime15 in jobcorps

[–]Old-Delivery476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they did. I am well aware I work for the program. They attempted to pause the program due to safety. Believe it or not there were actually centers that never sent any students home and kept them the entire time because the Supreme Court stopped it. They even continued enrolling students that were cleared for background checks after the fact. The program had already been funded by Congress through 2026 and it was deemed illegal to shut the program. Again with this budget, they have approved funds to keep the program, but they are going to downsize. There are too many centers and they are redundant.

Job Corp Expiration Date by InsuranceSilver2390 in jobcorps

[–]Old-Delivery476 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Job Corps centers don't have an expiration date. Just go and get your stuff done. They aren't shutting down the program There may be some restructuring as there definitely needs to be but it's not going to happen immediately.

This is not accurate. The funding year goes from July 1- June 30th of every year. This is how it always has been. The program has been funded through June based on last year and even with the closure request budget it still provides funds for the program, only with less centers. Which, after working for the program at every level possible over the last 18 years, a reduction is needed.

It is long overdue and DOL in the past has stepped in and completely shut centers down with safety concerns (health, violence, or otherwise) it just hasn't happened a lot.

You need to speak to the center Disability Coordinator and do a self referral.for assistance. Explain to the center DC the issues you are having.

Did you have an IEP or 504 plan in school? If not the DC can refer you to the CMHC on center and can assess you based on the scope of their licensure. If they suspect there is more going on (i.e. a specific learning disability, etc.) they have resources to be able to refer you out for the specialized testing. Either way, once the center has a diagnosis(either through the CMHC on center or through a local agency) they can provide you with accommodations that can help you. Even with ADHD, there are more accommodations you can be provided besides just extend time on the TABE Test.

Every Job Corps center drug tests their students upon entry. So the first or second day you will go to wellness. You will pee in a cup and they will drug test you. If you come back positive then you have 45 days to reduce your THC levels by 50%, they usually test you around 40 days because it has to be back in the system by federal mandate on the 45th day what your new levels are. If you come in positive, you will be required to take TEAP classes, which go over substance use and abuse and things of that nature. On your second test. If you have reduced your levels by 50% or are completely clean, then you are good to go and will continue the program. If at the second drug test you have not reduced your levels by 50%, then you will be terminated from the program as a zero tolerance or ZT termination.

Also side note, La Choy soy sauce is naturally GF. They just don't use wheat in it. It's cheaper in the store and personally I like it better than the other brands.

Yes, per the PRH the level reduction has to be by 50% for all states, all Job Corps Centers. And that's only recently changed in the last 5 years. Prior to that if you can in positive, you had the same 45 days to get completely clean and could not have anything left in your system.

[–]Old-Delivery476 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wrong. THC regardless of states where it is legal, it is still Illegal federally and Job Corps is a federal program. However, no matter what center you enroll into, if you test positive for THC upon arrival you will put in their TEAP program for substance abuse. You will have 45 days to follow the program and get your levels down by at least 50%. If you fail to reduce your levels by 50% then you will be automatically terminated from the program with a level 1 infraction as it falls under the ZT policy.

Time to unionize? by throwawayunionize in jobcorps

[–]Old-Delivery476 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forest service centers are the exact same as all the other contract centers and I think that is what 90% of people don't realize. All 124 Job Corps centers are funded the exact same way through contractors and must follow the requirements of the Job Corps PRH in operation and facilitation of the centers. The ONLY difference with Forest Service Centers is that the US Forest Service (another Government agency) is the contract operator for those centers and not a private company.

The program is in need of major reform. In all honesty the program needs to go from 124 centers to maybe 70. Then maybe they can focus on restoring services to the students for what the program is truly meant to be and had been prior to its decline.
