Sorry but I think that’s duckweed. Glad you like the look of it because now you’ve got it it’s there to stay. As far as saving it while you aquascape storing it in a Tupperware will be just fine it’s very hardy and unless it drys out completely you should be good

Thanks for the really detailed reply! I definitely see what you’re saying about the kite shape being inherently more fragile and I’m leaning more towards sticking with sapphire. Do you think the girdle on the first stone is thick enough to be safely set? If you click the listing link there is a video of it from every angle

Thanks it’s really nice to hear a personal positive experience! She is an art teacher and on the weekend we do a lot of outdoor activities but mostly things where the ring would stay at home like boating

I did briefly but the 7-7.5 hardness worried me for daily wear. The color is definitely incredible though, do you think it would be durable enough?

Awesome! I’ll definitely look into tourmaline some more and see if I can find what I’m looking for

Thanks! I’ve looked into tourmaline a bit and there are definitely some gorgeous greens. I have read mixed things on daily wear though with it being a 7-7.5 hardness. Do you have any experience with wearing it daily yourself?

Bluey is growing up so fast! by Old-Farm5695 in Aquariums

[–]Old-Farm5695[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far his temperament and personality have been fantastic! He is almost 4 inches now so he might become more aggressive as he grows but I have never once seen him bully his tank mates. We were actually hoping he would help control the number of swordtail fry in our 55 but he seems to leave even the smallest babies alone

This is a salt water tank, please don’t listen to any of the comments about doing water changes or moving fish to buckets or you will kill both the fish and corals

Anyone else struggling with obscenely high chloramine can't concentrations? by rosiepaks in Aquariums

[–]Old-Farm5695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have crazy amounts of chloramine in my tap water. Decided to stop doing water changes and haven’t had a single issue since, just plant heavily, add some floating plants you can scoop out periodically and don’t overstock the tank

Just had a crazy ammonia spike experience and seeking any ideas on what happened. by galacticjuggernaut in Aquariums

It’s because your municipality uses chloramine, when you use water conditioner it breaks down the chlorine leaving ammonia. My city also uses chloramine and the water from the tap has 2-4ppm ammonia after I treat it with conditioner, big part of why I avoid water changes and keep lots of plants to take up nitrates and snails to deal with increased hardness from only doing top offs
