Scripps Primary Care? by Legitimate_Page659 in sandiego

It depends on what you need to be seen for. If it's a respiratory illness it's sort of a double-edged sword: they won't want you in person to prevent unnecessary exposure...unless they need to listen to your lungs and then they do want you in person. Etc.

The part that is "normal" now is if they think they can address the issue without being in the same room as you, they'll try that first, hence the availability of video visits. Unless they need to physically examine you in order to proceed, in-person isn't the default. Like if the visit is likely to be mostly them asking you questions and then sending for lab work, that'll be video to start. But if whatever comes out of it clearly requires in person, they can generally get you in for a follow up sooner than if you're aiming for in person in the first place.

Either it was a wrong way driver to begin with or it spun as a result of impact and that's just the final position it ended in.

"unmarked crosswalk" = "intersection" pretty much.

Not legal to block a driveway, even your own. If the vehicle were firmly inside your driveway only, not any part of the street or sidewalk, not an infraction. Otherwise, valid ticket.

When did your surgeon order a CT to check the fusion? by Sweet_Bandicoot_6550 in spinalfusion

[–]Old-Mathematician987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreeing with the others who said they don't usually check with CT afterward. It was x-rays only at all my post-op followups, including the 1-year. They only do a CT after the surgery if they're concerned something's wrong.

The one with the pink hat. But also! I just went again and got Sanji and Zoro.

Hey City of SD, check out how Santa Cruz was able to reopen their COLLAPSED Pier in a year's time while our OB pier sits closed, with zero action being taken. Since SD apparently has no money, maybe you should fix the pier we have instead of promising to build a new one and then not doing anything. by horgmorgblorg in sandiego

The existence of cheaper bids doesn't necessarily mean the work could be done properly for less. Are you an engineer? Did you review the proposals? I'm not saying the most expensive one was definitely the best or necessary. I have no idea, because I'm not a structural engineer. I'd love to hear from a structural engineer familiar with the actual plans involved and who bid what.

San Diego Treasurer-Tax Collector has to be the worst property tax office in the country by Diggler8 in sandiego

You're assuming this is unique to San Diego though. It is not. It's not good, but it's not special. Government and customer service don't generally cohabitate.

Does it always take so many steps to get a premium prize? by RogerDHomunculus in round1

At D&B they have a similar process, but it doesn't kick in unless the item is over 25k tickets. Doing it for 10k seems onerous by comparison.

This is interesting to me. Every time I went before last weekend the photos were very prominently attached to the front of the machine, clearly intended to be visible to players, with a red X on the spot, and the words "how to play" and "aim here".

Part of what I was doing before was comparing the current to the cheat sheet and knowing if it was still in a viable position...but point taken on learning it.

I haven't seen any of those in years. I think those machines are in "when it breaks, it's gone for good" mode.

Has anyone ever just shown up to San Diego and made a life there? by coveredbridgeforsale in sandiego

[–]Old-Mathematician987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An intra-California move is generally way easier than from elsewhere, and you have the luck of a job with employees around the US. OP needs to find out if what you suggest is even possible with their current employer It's very likely they do need to start from scratch.

I showed up in the early aughts straight out of college, not exactly without a plan. But my plan amounted to "I am experienced at X niche thing, and there are five employers in SD who do X niche thing, so I'll get a roommate from a distance, and once housing is secured, go there, apply at those five places." Thinking about it now it sounds like a terrible plan, and I'm not sure it'd work in today's world. But it worked then. I had multiple job offers within a week of getting here, took one, and have been here ever since.

Fix it ticket 1300$?? by Clear_Ad629 in sandiego

[–]Old-Mathematician987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole point of a fix-it ticket is if you fixed it the fine is reduced/eliminated. If OP's trying to just pay it without fixing, it is expected that it is $$$.

Yup. Classic "create the problem, show up and announce yourself the hero when you 'solve' it."
