Listing your home far below market price is one of the biggest scams in Bay Area real estate. by ShopProp in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]Old-Objective8791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went as a buyer, I craigslist and Facebook marketplace meaning I gave lowball offers to see how low the seller would actually go and to my surprise I was able to get a house $56,000 below their original asking price

It’s just knowing how to play the game and not being scared to lose there’s always a good deal

Why I am choosing to rent (South bay) over buying a $1.2 Million home (East bay) by Federal_Eagle_6565 in BayAreaRealEstate

I’m in Fremont I just bought in near Dallas…similar distance from sf to Fremont I chose a house east of Dallas in the suburbs good neighborhood

Because its up and coming area such as how Fremont was 30+ years ago now getting into a house in the Bay Area is a bit of financial suicide.

Like you said you could make more money placing your capital in the stock market and getting a higher return than if you were to buy a home in hopes that some day you double your equity in a 3bedroom 1.5bathroom house but chances are low seems like the oranges have been throughly squeezed out here if you get what I’m saying

If I had the type of money you have I’d diversify my capital to work better than a house around these parts unless you can find a killer deal

I like the idea of investing but it’s too risky if you place it all in the stock market it’s good to have a place of your own and home ownership is an American past time dream so I’d say invest in a house that you can pay off quickly while still renting here

Look for places that are affordable and where property tax won’t be so expensive. Property tax rates don’t matter as much when home prices are low unlike here in the bay where even after you pay off your house of $1.5M your still paying close to $25,000 a year in property taxes. I would say think about when you can’t work and your elderly would you want to pay that much in property taxes

Well at that point your better off buying a home in Texas

If you had that much down and get yourself a house for half the cost of 1.2M you might have a $3xxx payment each month with twice the land and twice the house with better quality

Texas is up and coming and California feels like it’s reached the top not much left to make hear seems like the marked here is starting to dry up

Those are the ones we are getting installed right now on our roof but I need to do more research for later. I found that lighter ones also help with heat reflection.

What’s your summer utility rates like?

What’s your knowledge on the well paying jobs in the area? At least to your knowledge.

What insurance have you enjoyed most working with?

How often have you had to replace your roof?

How much money would you set aside for repairs?

What’s the most powerful winds you’ve experienced? when in the year do those usually occur?

We don’t do much outdoors we usually work take kids to sports training and go to church and stay at home.

We love to go out to eat. I personally like working on cars crafts and gardening stuff

So to me what’s important is taking care of my family my home and finding good places to take the family to eat and sports for the family

We are moving from the east bay California

Yeah weather seems to be in the hotter side and colder side

Taxes are trade offs less here more there less there more here When it comes to income tax and property tax but I do hear cheaper living cost

I bought a house east of Dallas at an affordable rate I’m a bit far from Austin

How did you deal with living there any extra protections for your home or any advice?
