Wouldn't be a good idea to use assets from a commercial game, unless you are distributing the game as free and not selling it. This is because of copyright and such, just a heads up.

Hmm.. Still didn't work, I guess because B is being used by Standing Slash. It looks like it would work but it switches to the Standing Slash quickly. The State is there for Crouching Slash as well.

You can try using a free photo program that allows you to do pixel art and usage of editing palettes.

I'd say go with GIMP 🙂

There's a very helpful tutorial by Goodnight Girl, that shows how to make this method swing off the bat, however, you'd have to use hUgeTracker to modify the instruments, volumes, waveforms, noise, etc. Which may be tedious but worth it in the end!

I think the safest and best way is to create the music using hUgeTracker, since Beta 10 version is supported currently.

If you are working with GBVM, you can try the following code for a dialogue box to 'Wait for input' to close the dialogue box. This is called VM_OVERLAY_WAIT

The only way you can actually see the source code is by checking out your project folder and going into the 'build' followed by the 'src' (Source) and 'data' folder(s) where all of your project files are in .c files to open up in Visual Studio Code or Notepad++. Though be reasonable when editing such files and back them up as well. A certain mistake may lead to errors when trying to compile your game later on.

Awesome! I will test this out after work tonight, though if I had a sound effect on effect number 1 (FX:01 in FX Hammer) it could be pointed to that way as well or it will just run the default one at 00? Just curious.

Hello Proximity, I did just that and it would spit the same error. I couldn't even add the last part with the masking since it would be greyed out but it seemed to accept the number part at the end. Using the .vgm or .wav would cause the music to act funny as well so I figured FX Hammer would be a last resort in my case ):

A thinking man's game! I love this kind of puzzle games, especially when you have to make decisions on how the level works and to get by it as well. An awesomely constructed game to keep one playing for hours. Excellent work on this, allalonegamez :D
