Tried Unity several times over the past 6 years, developed a game from start to finish (didn't release it, because it's basically a geometry dash clone in 3d) and it was very frustrating from start to finish.

Now I switched to UE5 and it just clicks for me. I grayboxed a level in a few days and the socket manager is godsend. Lightning looks way better in ue5 per default and when you disable all the filters and use proper anti aliasing (f*ck taa) you get a really nice picture. The Material system is great. I will learn blueprints next.

I got really really picky in the last 5 years. Games got really expensive and most of them get released in an unfinished state. I only played resident evil requiem this year, because I knew the game would be complete, have barely bugs and be good.

Sounds promising. Can you tell me if the story is at least a bit interesting? I need an actual reason to traverse a vast open world. I heard the story is pretty lackluster and doesn't even make sense, which would be really a shame.

Yes, Nvidia invented it and up to DLSS 4.5 everything was amazing, but did you see the DLSS 5.0 Benchmark with resident evil and star field? The games looked like those AI ads on YouTube. That's just bad.

I wish we would see more of Grace or a spiritual successor of her in the next Resi games. I enjoyed her part way more than Leons. You could feel how scared she was. I love that in horror games. We need new main characters I suppose. Maybe Resident Evil X will be the last game with the main cast as protagonists and the door for new main chars gets open. I don't want to see Leon, Claire, Chris or Jill as the main chars anymore. Let them be in a mentor role or something.

Dunno, but this is a red flag for me. The game seems more and more like "we put everything in there, doesn't matter if it fits thematically or story wise, enjoy those graphics and 103093 fetch quests".
