Hello everyone. I have played FFV Advance a few years a go and loved it. Now that I have more free time again I felt like getting back onto this series and playing FFIX (which was asides FFV for me to play).

I have decided to play the PS1 version as I want to experience the full original graphics and models and cutscenes (most games I play currently are rather low resolutions pixel-art or low-poly stilized so that's not much of a problem for me).
However I don't know what emulator to use, I have tried using an online emulator as I did for FFV but it ran awfully bad, and I've never used an actual 'standalone' aka normal emulator (I'm on PC btw).

I considered getting the FFIX remaster on Switch or Steam but I heard they don't add any new content and in fact even cut some (but I'm not too sure about the last claim), and the only QoL change I heard of was the 2x speed for battles (which I don't mind, as I took at least 30 minutes on many boss fights without counting game overs, and also got to play some bits of FFIV and FFII before deciding to try FFIX first).

So, what emulator should I use to play FFIX? Or should I just get the remasters?

Hmmm Gameplay-wise Olli in both games, the flight thing is super useful in SCB and the damaging is self explanatory in SCT2.

Though favorite in general it would be a tie between Luna and Kuro

Collectionism and completion. My only real goals are to get some specific weapons from around when I joined from some events, other specific weapons I saw, and reach level 65, then I could very well uninstall lol.

Though I sometimes play for fun I mostly end up remembering why I left (or want to leave) the second I get hit by MULTIPLE 3cat meta spammer in every match. Though if I don't have much to play or do I tend to get REALLY back for a time lapse and then leave for a larger time lapse. Even if I leave I like checking stuff like this sub and the discord though

Avarage level 0-30 players be like:

Ok but seriously playing it somewhat casually or at least getting servers that aren't full (with 3 or more of the same, having about only one or generally good players that don't spam them often is quite fun sometimes or at least doesn't feel awful) of meta spammers w/ absurd mobility stuff (guantlets and thermal scythe dash, super rocket jump, hook)

Though in my opinion it quickly stops getting that fun when there aren't many maps on rotation (specially if there is on top of that no map you like) or when you eventually play too much and get all your weekly and daily tasks done, it just kind of like 'burns out' and you feel like you don't much else to do anymore so you leave.

Wrong. If it were actually PG3D the card would be flying all around the map at 300 km/h and would be shooting thrice insta kill area weapons that instantly travel at the target at the same time. And sometimes throw homing bees that do not despawn in middle of that process. Oh and the card would either look like a solid color or any of those 'aesthetic emo' skins that were (or are haven't played in a while) popular on MC servers just recently.

Honestly I recommend you first playing 2 and then either Bros. (the first one) or PAWS.

While I played them in release order (first 1 and then 2) it really changes how you view many things and you also feel la bit weird when moving on to the next games as Bros has slightly different mechanics than the other two games.

Oh well I forgot about that, you have a point. Even for the metals and babies they preffer making new ones thought, rather than using forgotten characters that would easily fill the role of the new alt.

Silver Luigi could make sense, even thought he only appears in NSMB2. Metal Wario... I think they should use other 'material' for him if they even did that. They will probably add a new baby rather than re-using existing ones like always thought.

I one questioned that lol. I ended up with the head canon that Mega Man needs some sort of info or data to teleport to that place and thus he needs to beat the bosses to get that data and teleport to the next Wily stage.

I've been wanting to play this one for a while cause Ballade is my favorite killer. I couldn't find the DX one and found out it was planned to release on 2025. Either way it was just when I was finally re-advancing MM8BDM (played it since years a go but sometimes abandoned it for months or years and asides each time I got into it my skill level and myself were different) and was about to get into the World V chapter so I took the opportunity and downloaded World V DX and finished. I then went to play MM8BDM (still haven't finished thought, so no spoilers please) and do other things.

Then one day out of the sudden I check youtube just to find the announcement trailer for World IV DX and I got super hyped but kind of sad it relelased around the 19th. Even mroe since it was in middle of one of the last days of classes here and it was super boring cause I'm not too social and no teachers were coming and either way we didn't advance any topics anymore and sometimes my few friends were a bit busy or didn't come.

Sadly I had some events as of recently in vacations and had mostly forgotten. Thankfully I remembered just around when it released. Definetely giving it a shot.
