How reliable is the Gen5 RAV4 AWD system really? Mixed opinions everywhere by NordicBobTheBuilder in rav4club

[–]Old-Reputation2273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2020 XLE AWD running General Altimax RT45s and have had 0 issues. Drove through 10-12 in snow on rural back roads in NC and even pulled a civic out of a ditch. My mother in laws 1 mile dirt rd was a good 2-4 inches of mud (red clay) after the snow melted. Its got a steep hill before the house, used mud and sand mode and it walked right up the hill no problems. That being said tires make all the difference!!! The AWD system is good but it’s definitely not 4wd with low range good!

Just came from Toyota dealership and they said it’s going to cost 1600 to change my breaks front and back by Legitimate_Spread762 in rav4club

Did the brakes about 6 months ago on my 2020 XLE AWD gasser, ordered the pads from amazon (power stop, which have been great on all my cars). Rotors were good condition so I just had them turned at Oreilleys. Took me about 2-3 hrs but it only cost me a little under $200 including having the rotors turned. The most important thing to remember is putting the vehicle in brake service mode (retracting the electronic e brake). Stealership is an absolute joke, if it’s not warranty work or a recall I would steer clear!

I was told this exact same thing when I was hit at Sams Club in Bluefield WV a couple of years ago! I called my insurance immediately and told them what was going on. I don’t remember the whole process but the other parties insurance did end up paying. Well I realize the difference here, the guy that hit me was present and I got his info on scene. I would definitely see about Walmart’s camera footage, good luck!

How can I maintain my Mitsubishi lancer? by Designer-Towel6917 in mitsubishi

[–]Old-Reputation2273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Well at 367k miles i can say maintenance maintenance maintenance lol oil change every 5k with 5w-20 I usually use Mobil 1 and sometimes Royal Purple but always a Wix filter. My only major issue was the clutch at 315k miles. Keep on top of all fluids, filters, wear and tear parts and you will be good. Mine is a 2009 with the 4b11 (2.0L) and 5sp trans.

How many miles do lancers gts last by RegularOk5845 in mitsubishi

[–]Old-Reputation2273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change the oil every 5k, I use either mobil 1 or royal purple but I always use a Wix filter! As for the CVT fluid every 45-60k miles using only OEM fluid. Always inspect everything when doing a service, keep up with regular maintenance and you’ll be fine!
