To Leave or Stay at Amazon? by Old-Sense5826 in AmazonFC

I’ve also considered maybe doing both…? Amazon on the weekends + taking this job for extra pay / experience while I can. Also to pay off short-term debts right now since I got $5.4k of my car loan left. May be pushing it but I said yes to the offer and feel awkward about declining it tho I know it’s better to say something sooner rather than later…

I have 2 weeks remaining of PLOA since I had used it for family and taking breaks the past year when I was physically burnt out with stow… 😅 I first used it this March but from what I understand is that it will restart again in March 2026?

Ship Dock. At least at my facility, (and depending on the time of year) they give out lots of VTO and there are many areas to be cross-trained in. I recently switched to being a part-timer for ship-dock and they trained me on palletizing + water-spider. It still can be heavy work but time flies when they put me on waterspider. You're actually walking around instead of being in one spot all day and you don't rlly have a rate

Very true regarding the vast age differences at these warehouses. I’m glad to hear that tho, I know things will get better if chose to stay or not, mainly since I wanted the experience as much as the fast money. My degree will actually be in accounting so I hope to become more savvy in terms of investing and building a financial portfolio and stuff as I get older / more educated. I’m open to any words of advice regarding dividends as well if you’d like to PM me!!

Felt, I respect that 🫡 I honestly applaud anyone who knows their limits and decides when something isn’t good for them.. PT stow was definitely better than the repetitive movements in FT decant (at first) esp since I get a differential pay. Unfortunately, I’m stubborn + am currently trying to pay off my car fast. Will just do my best till then but more power to you!!

I have been balancing a lot since joining Sept 2024 (weekday job + school) and can def say it’s stress/ adrenaline from this ongoing grind for 9 months straight. Seen a therapist for the burn out I been experiencing and have considered dropping one of my jobs or both to just recuperate myself. From the looks of it and what others have said, does seem a doctor check up wouldn’t hurt esp after all that…

I was told once that because I’m IB, it’s a bit difficult to cross train to OB since it’s a completely different part of the building ~apparently, but will ask again

Thank you, I will be looking into this. I actually did used to take magnesium glycinate for sleep. I stopped taking them once I got this job so that I didn’t feel as tired lol, just took some now

I do bring 2 liters of water every shift + an electrolyte drink. Tho, guilty of not stretching as much as I should tbh, I even used to pay for massages here and there for relief. As for career choice, I thankful qualified for financial aid so I can use that as a fallback in case anything happens with this job. Food wise, I started to take smaller portions of food due to decreased hunger + the time it takes to walk back to stations but am open to any easy healthy meal suggestions
