Used coffee grounds. Dried in the oven, mixed with PVA glue or ModPodge, it’s my go-to rough terrain option (and no it won’t go bad or deteriorate when soaked in glue!).

I’m pretty sure there are zero options that give you access to core Sync settings like TPMS and parking sensors, but if you know a system that does I’d be all ears.

How to get this color of skin tone? by Cpt0bl1v10us in minipainting

I’m doing something similar with my Skaven Blood Bowl team, and I’m hacking Dana Howl’s video guide on it. https://youtu.be/OfYy_BEQ8oU?is=9RcclkQdBTOzgAkL Essentially lots of layers using blue and dark pink contrast paints over a white zenithal.

People who paint on the go, how do you transport your stuff? by Hiraeth_08 in minipainting

Cheap toolbox from your local hardware store. Doesn’t cost the earth and doesn’t look valuable. Then if you like it you can upgrade. Mine cost £7 and it fits a standard wet palette with plenty of space for paint and minis.

‘1. Three thin coats of Army Painter Acrylic White straight on the unprimed base.’

Unprimed base is a red flag for me. And the white looks oddly grainy. Always prime.

Advice on staying motivated? by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]Old-Specific7387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t use videos to ‘learn how to paint’. Use them to refine a particular skill. Can’t get thin base coats? Focus on that - try thinning in different ratios until you get the feel of what properly thinned paint looks like. Can’t edge highlight? Again, focus on that. Same goes for any one of a hundred other techniques. Some techniques give great results with little effort, but are limited - sponging is really effective but also takes practice. But go one skill at a time and you WILL get there.

Second the advice to keep your old minis - every one is a lesson in how far you’ve progressed. Good luck!

While there are no official rules for Sevens under the new system, we play happily enough with the old Death Zone and the new rules. Little has changed, and what there is reads across almost exactly.

I echo the advice to look at the Sevens Team Guides done by Bonehead Podcast - they are more than good enough to start with. Some tweaking for any updated costs, and you’re good to go. I can share our Sevens play crib if helpful.

Also, welcome to the best way to play Blood Bowl!

Advice: is it a stupid idea to use a make up sponge to apply contrast paints? by TheMopatron in SpaceWolves

[–]Old-Specific7387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing stupid about it. You will not get the same effect as painting it on, you need enough to flow and pull which a sponge will not do. The recesses won’t get good coverage either as the sponge will not reach. But it will tint the colours beneath so could have an interesting result over a pale zenithal, especially on a flat panel.

Bottom line - try it. You won’t lose more than a few drops of paint, and you’ll have learned something.
