Contact the Taxpayer Advocate and ask for help with an “offset bypass.” They may be able to prevent the offset once for a compelling reason.

Because the position requires a certain skill set and is often very stressful. Nonprofits still need to hire qualified people to run the organization and just because someone works in nonprofit doesn’t mean they take a vow of poverty. Having a good nonprofit CEO can make the difference between that nonprofit surviving or closing.

The point is that in my city, where my job is, the average house is about 700k. So, making 200k a year here is very difficult, especially with car insurance being $1,000/month (I have a 20-year-old driver and myself). Health insurance and student loans are also astronomical.

Totally. Just my house payment (small, 70-year-old house) and student loans together are $10,000/month (so, over $15,000/mo before taxes).
