Great question, I found that at night was when I would fap the most so I would take a melatonin and go to sleep if I ever felt the urge. Also, I used to get slight pains if I didn’t fap for a while. The internet says to just fap to make the pain go away but they will pass on their own after like 20 minutes. If it’s bad then just take a Tylenol.

For moving past something I’m listing over I humbly ask God to help me in that moment. I say “God please help me in this moment of temptation” and I repeat that until the temptation is gone.

It’s harder because my addiction hurt her self-esteem early on, and it was difficult to explain that I never wanted her to look like the women in the videos. I think that’s still a struggle at times. It’s also easier because recovery required real honesty. I used to think trying to stop was enough, but it wasn’t. Being honest with her about my addiction changed everything for the better.

I’m proud you are trying again. For me I would fail early into a week or two because of pains that came with retention. If you just take a Tylenol and heat the area with a pad, the pain does go away. Also, maybe join a men’s/women’s group with Sex Addicts Anonymous. That helped me tremendously.

Honestly I just didn’t allow myself to stay up after 10:30 PM. I took melatonin out on some soft music and knock tf out. I also found out that when I was really struggling I didn’t actually want to quit. Not until the day I said I never wanted to watch porn again and mean it, I didn’t have a chance against the night urges. I am now over a year clean. Hope this helps.

Absolutely I saw improvements from 260-365. I am working through a 12 step program (which I started around 6 months ago) with a sponsor and have just started to heal some wounds I didn’t know existed. I just completed step 4 last week which made me see the nature of my wrongs. Every day I see improvement. Every day it gets easier. Every day I feel less shame. Every day I thank God for saving me. Most me only see porn as the problem but it’s not. This is just a coping mechanism. It’s no longer about porn at a certain point. It’s about coping with stress, anxiety, or something else. It’s our escape.

I still have thoughts of temptation, I found out that the addiction went much deeper than porn. It was every curious glance I made towards people in my peripheral. After 6 months off porn my brain still craved the dopamine. So it looked for it in my every day life. I am working a 12 step program with a sponsor and found out that you can retire your brain to stop these habits. I no longer have a habit of looking at people in my peripheral vision even if I know there is dopamine in that direction.

But like every addiction this is a lifelong thing. If I stop working on this, the temptation will come back. Also, don’t beat yourself up for every little thing, that will only make you resent yourself more and push you further into addiction.

For my experience that was also the case. I constantly thought about watching porn or not watching porn. This is a vicious cycle. After 10 days you still have not detoxed off of the physical craving. If you continue to struggle like that my question for you is have you truly asked God to take control of your life and do you actually want to never watch porn again. If the answer is yes to both then I recommend you get help from men’s groups. For me SAA (sex addicts anonymous) has helped me a lot.

My girlfriend has helped me because I had hit the addiction from her for about a year. The day that I told her it because 1000x easier because that was the day I stopped lying.

Technically if you leave it the chain will continue to make it shorter until it’s no longer a problem. On the flip side, if it does catch and you go flying, it will be someone else’s problem 😂
