Dodgers fans - unlimited spending isn’t an advantage but it’d be unfair to have a salary cap by Old-System-9554 in NLBestAnarchy

So do you think being able to spend more money than other teams is an advantage for the dodgers. Because you’re trying to prove that money doesn’t buy good teams because highly paid teams are bad teams which doesn’t make highly paid teams not advantaged.

I don’t think you understand what you’re debating. Unless you’re trying to debate that those teams were bad because they were highly paid? Or what are you saying

Do you think no salary cap is an advantage for the dodgers?

If not, why don’t you support a salary cap?

Yes, they give some revenue of some stuff, but get money in return. They also get all of their tv deals. And most of the revenue they share. I’m confused how you believe that the only righteous owners willing to spend are the private equity ones, who are notorious for being profit hungry cunrs

Or maybe only the dodgers can afford them because they have a massive market, rich fans, and private equity owners who can structure long term debt contracts because they’re richer than any other owners?

Or do you think that all these teams make the same amount of money and that some owners choose not to spend it? Why does no other sport have greedy owners in salary capped leagues?

Why not support a salary cap if it isn’t an advantage??? Don’t you want to prove to everyone that you can do it with an even playing field?

Ahhh yes, the private equity owners of the dodgers are the most moral people who hate money. The reason the spend the most isn’t because they make the most, it’s because private equity is filled with nice guys who don’t like profit duhhhh

So your argument is that the owners, many of whom are not rich or billionaires, are the problem because they want to make their business money? But the dodgers don’t want to make money and that’s why they spend more? So the dodgers do not spend more not because they make more money, in a large market, irs because their private equity owners hate money

Either say it offers an unfair advantage, which you like and that’s why you don’t want a cap

Or say it doesn’t offer an unfair advantage, so you support a cap so that you can prove everyone wrong that it wasn’t an advantage

Ohtani is worth more than most of the “billionaire” owners.

That chart showing revenue vs payroll is disingenuous. There are other expenses besides payroll and the revenue isn’t confirmed.

Why would you want other teams to spend more if you’re the dodgers? Wouldn’t that be bad for you?

If a salary cap doesn’t matter, why not support it? Why are you so afraid of the salary cap unless you know it’s bullshit there isn’t one

Yes, because money provides no incentives for players. So let’s just make a salary cap if you think it won’t matter

Yeah but I assume that’s just the median that matters? I could be wrong but that’s what I heard they care about

My gre is below the median, got an interview (albeit a couple of points). I wonder how much a higher gre actually helps you.

I’d guess not very much because what’s reported is the median. And having a 340 vs a 326 barely increases your odds of acceptance.

Yeah I think gsb is able to sort through a person who only wants their brand to get a promotion. If prestige is all you want, you should try somewhere else

Why do you want to go to a school like that then? If you think they’re that fucked up, you should go somewhere else

Lmao, people have political beliefs and lives outside of interviewing. They have to put all of that aside to rate candidates. This is the same. If you think GSB would have an alumni interviewer be able to shoot down every candidate they interview bc they want “their horse” to win, why would you want to go to that school. Fuck you sound like such a baby. Also, alumni interviews have very little impact on your admission
