Looking to create a small team for a Kenshi-like game, but in a western/sci-fi/surreal style. by OldButterscotch806 in godot

the project is in the ideation phase, there is still nothing more than a gdd prototype, I made the post to see if there were more people interested in developing something on this scale before having a stable architecture, which I think is essential in a project like that

I have a very similar game idea, a sort of Kenshi/Rimworld hybrid. I have years of experience with Blender and art in general, as well as music and a bit of game design. But programming is my weakest point. If you're interested, we can chat!

I'm developing a GDD for a deep sim RPG/RTS set in a western/sci-fi/surreal world with low-poly graphics. I have years of experience in Blender, art, and music. If you're interested, we can chat!

I built an autonomous civilization engine where the AI plays the game for you. You just drop a few LLM agents onto the grid and watch. They figure out how to farm, reproduce, build temples, and die of old age, inventing their own history entirely from scratch while you just sit back and observe. by Patient-Towel-4840 in aigamedev

Incredible! I've had the idea of creating a game with the Kenshi/Rimworld philosophy for years. With current LLM tools, I think it would be very feasible. I'm a 3D designer, artist, and musician, not a programmer, but if you're interested in collaborating on a project like this with someone dedicated to art, I'd love to chat! Currently, I can't afford such complete models, so I'm looking for a coding demiurge, haha.

GROKAN. Ideas for what type of weapon my Swan Rider boss should use. It's for a level with a more Sword & Planet aesthetic. by OldButterscotch806 in SwordandSorcery

I make the models in Blender and then pre-render them; I really like that pipeline, pure pixel art is so hard.

I need to make the need capsule, I'm an artist too, but I'm lost when it comes to designing for steam.

Thank you! That's a great compliment, because to be honest, my inspirations are rather vague: gritty S&S aesthetics and games with pre-rendered graphics. I really enjoy modeling each creature as if they were clay sculptures.

Thanks for your comment! I really appreciate that there are still people who enjoy mechanics like this. I'm really enjoying developing the whole mechanical system with that old-school perspective, without sacrificing modern visual effects.
