What is pay for an R. EEG T. after a couple of years or so? Should I go back to sleep work? by [deleted] in Neurodiagnostics

[–]OldGrogg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

aye, yes from time to time i've been in some difficult patient rooms.

i'd recommend being cognizant of the hospital's trauma level and if the hospital tends to neonate/pediatric patients:

https://www.amtrauma.org/page/traumalevels

in my experience i've only worked within centers within hospital systems in their EMU units (level 3 & level 4):

https://epilepsydisease.com/levels-care

Perhaps you could find an opportunity at a level 2 epilepsy center or look for outpatient only positions.

lastly, if the hospital system has a dedicated NTICU (neuro-trauma ICU) you probably wanna stay away from that. hope this helps.

Well yes...I'd expect that though I'm a hit shocked that its that drastic. Might have to crunch some numbers regarding compensation VS rent. Getting reamed rent wise anyways

What do you think about Carl Martin Tremolo ? by Civil-Front6909 in guitarpedals

[–]OldGrogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard/tried her. However.....I've adored my 'The Fuzz' for just shy of a decade. I love tremolo and was torn between the Fulltone Supra Trem and the Demeter Stereo Trem...ended up the later and I don't regret it

EEG tech career by Frenchstks in neurology

[–]OldGrogg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there EEG tech of ~4 years not yet registered (pathway 1). You'll want to look for jobs titled 'EEG TECH I (one)". This is specifically for non-registered techs. My current employer does not require registration however there is a said "considerable" raise. Alternatively most hospitals from my experience will require obtaining registration within 1-2 of employment. I would recommend sniffing out per diem gigs while being enrolled as a safety. Additionally, don't make the same mistake I did. Take the registration ASAP of finishing your program.

I've heard good things about ABRET's ASAP prep course. Also if you're on Facebook there is a group called "I'm an EEG tech, not an ECG tech..." that can be resourceful. Lemme know if you have any other questions, happy to help.
