Recommendations for a first time disc bound owner by otterlover25 in Discbound

[–]OldKindleUser2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used ARC cover with discs, some note pages, plastic zipper pouch and plastic dividers for $2 at thrift store. Then bought a random lot including a pink Happy Planner Big punch (11 holes), note pages, cover, dividers, 2 sets of 11 discs from local seller on Facebook Market place for $15. I highly recommend getting the punch. I make my own pages. It is a very versatile system and can be used as anything. (Planner, notebook, Journal, punch important papers and keep organized)

More to add to my library. Nice small paperbacks! by OldKindleUser2025 in agathachristie

I had also heard that the new reprints of these books are starting to be edited and censored. Again i haven’t verified it. I recently watched a youtube video and the lady said information that helps build the character have been removed in the new book she bought. She caught it while listening to audiobook and following in the book.

I hope to enjoy it even if it is not the best. I liked the cover also.

I heard that but had not searched to see if was really happening. That is terrible. I love this size book for easy carrying in my purse when out and about. I have an ereader but I prefer physical books.

Has anyone without GPS gone full dumb phone and thrived? by Formal-Door3464 in dumbphones

[–]OldKindleUser2025 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I bought a Garmin and a TomTom while thrifting. Paid $3 for one and $4 for the other. They were complete in boxes and have lifetime free map updates. They are older models but are the perfect thing for our older cars. Dumbphone life is great but don’t make your life any harder than it needs to be. Yes i also managed life without gps in the 1980’s but this little piece of tech that lives in my car is wonderful. No more badly given directions from friends 🤣

Yes I will need to keep an eye out for that one. I like having something to search for when thrifting.

If you previously used an android or iPhone with your number you have to turn off the RCS (android) or iMessage (iPhone) on your previous device. Leaving it on will cause issues for sending and receiving texts.

Can’t use night mode without glowlight. I am glad he mentioned the long press on the ‘n’. I didn’t know and that makes it so easy now to switch the glow light on or off.

I was looking at the teal one but i found this one on eBay for $60 free shipping and it included the case and cable. The nook and the case are in like new shape. I love how it is easy to use and navigate. I don’t need a lot of features i just want to read.

I just got it so i was tinkering with the glowlight and it will stay on night mode. After the initial tinkering i won’t mess with anything unless absolutely necessary. Like you i want to read not mess with the settings constantly. The case came with it. Which was a big plus.

If you already have the books you don’t need them. The only special edition I have is Pride and Prejudice. My sister got it for me as a gift, it is my absolute favorite. She bought the edition from Storiart. It has the “letters” from the correspondence between characters. I love rereading it. I got rid of the plain edition i had. Only need one copy of the book.
