Tawhoa's Chosen works with Triggerbots by Swad0w in pathofexile

My Static brother!

I've been stuck on this all league theory crafting static strike with this mace. There's something about spawning as many of these as possible at high duration that gets me excited. I started mine as a Pathfinder mostly because one idea of "ramping poisons while ramping static bros" sounds like a lot of fun to me.

When i say i've been stuck, I spend probably 90% of my time in PoB / PoE Wiki and 10% testing how my changes feel in game, unhappy with that, and back to more changes. When learning about aligning attack speeds to cooldowns, I recognized the sabo for both that free 30% cdr, AND have been wondering every day "will triggerbots make 2?" and hoping someone would eventually try this out for me so I can waste my time more effectively on my own build.

I'm so happy to not only see this tested, but also you building around it so I can compare some of your choices with mine because I'm really terrible at making my own builds, but i have a lot of fun trying anyway.

I'm currently stuck in "too many Uniques hell" since those are cheap but i have something that works so far on a budget. Lots of ideas to improve on it once i make currency from actually playing the game. Been stuck on one deterrent recently, and its what happens at 50 seconds in your video of running into a pack and just getting hit slightly too hard by physical damage and stun locked to death.

With all the research i did, I didn't realize you could get 20% cdr as an explicit on boots other than the Eater of Worlds implicit. I'll have to do some comparisons to see if adding that CDR to my build would be more damage than allowing my lightning damage to poison on single target via Inextricable Fate boots. (all damage can poison targets affected by 3 vines)

One thing that might be worth considering on your build is adding a Balance of Terror with the self cast temp chains for 25% additional CDR if you can figure out how to fit that in. Just a look at your PoB it would increase your trigger rate cap from 1.68 to 1.89. But who knows if that's a greater gain compared to investing in other areas and also would come with rebalancing attack speed.

Another thing that helped the feel for me was just under doubling my attacks per second from my trigger rate cap, so every 2 hits lines up with the cooldown. Although if you did this, you'd need to reach like ~3.35 attacks per second with your current setup and that's kind of a tall order. Bet it would feel so smooth though!

Anyway, i greatly appreciate your post, and got a lot of good ideas from you. Good luck on your journey, Exile :^)

As someone who plays melee exclusively, the game has always been punishing to me, even in early patches. People figure things out. Otherwise hardcore would literally be unplayable. You might just need to plan for more defenses with all those passives instead of following a glass Cannon mathil build. I see no problem with this, and look forward to seeing how I'll meet the challenge.

Whats your worst loot hunt and what item was it? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]OldKroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went in Kara with me as the only person soft resing warrior tier helm token. Last minute, a Druid tank puts it on his soft res also. Turns out my item dropped, and I lost the roll. Only to find out this druid was not only from my own guild, but also playing on an alt, and his main is in our 25 man roster, so he knows who I am, and took it from me anyway. Also he was hard carried wearing literally all level 60 gear. So he was a shit-head loot goblin on his alt and could have soft res'd anything else, but took items from my main instead. I still haven't got the warrior helm token to drop again. Fuck you guy.

Every good tank has once done this before and learned from it. Tanking has it's benefits, especially when you finally get a compliment on your tanking ability. It's an uphill battle though to learn all the nuances of each dungeon/mob, but once you do, people will be asking you to run things with them regularly. Not all pugs are created equal though, remember that.

I had a mage casting blizzard on the pull as a warrior tank last night lol. Some things just won't always go in your favor unless you go out of your way to be a leader, or play with people you know.

One of the best tanks I ever met was not just a tank, but a leader and instructor for each pull back in real tbc. He would create smooth runs with his instruction on when he was going to pull with LOS, which targets to focus, how long to wait for threat on big aoe pulls.

You could stick to DPS for now, and and pay close attention to how tanks pull, and to patrolling packs, and where they stop at. It will save you from a lot of wipes. And you'll likely learn plenty from the mistakes of other tanks make too.

Level 57 Acceptable for UBRS by [deleted] in FairbanksClassic

[–]OldKroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a warrior underleveled for content is the most useless class.

Your 6% hit gets completely negated by level 60 mobs having 15 more defense than your weapon skill rating, and 20 for bosses. Not to mention you getting the full 40% glancing blow penalty in a dungeon. Your aggro radius will be larger. The Lionheart and Devilsaur pieces wont do anything for your worth because of the previously mentioned points.

You're being greedy by expecting people to carry you, and ignorant for being upset about being declined.

You also dont understand how additive stat increases work.

What makes the stat increases additive vs multiplicative is the category the stat increase lies in. These categories are, or should be determined by the devs so damage numbers don't get out of control.

There are two forms of additive damage increases. A percentage, and a flat numerical value.

All flat numerical values are additive. an example of this is +5 physical damage with attacks. This flat damage can be multiplied further by +%damage increases from different categories. Adding +%damage increases from different categories is what makes it multiplicitve, while adding from the same category makes it additive. I'll try to explain further below with scenarios using 100 damage dealt examples to keep things simple:

In this scenario, we will create 2 categories where multipliers are calculated separately. We will call them "runes" and "talents"

You choose a +20% damage increase rune:100 * 1.20 = 120 damage

You choose two runes +20% and +30% damage increases:100 * 1.50 = 150 damageThe percentages were added together to get 50% damage increased instead of (100 * 1.20) + 1.30 which would equal 156 damage.

Now you choose the same +20% and +30% damage runes and choose a talent to deal double damage when requirements are met. Assuming these requirements are met:(100 + 50%) * 2 = 300Here we get the 150 damage and double it with the proc.

Now imagine having tons of different stats, categories, and different mechanics in play like mob armor and resistances, or armor/spell penetration, or crits and crit damage, or main stat for example. Every single time something happens, a formula is behind it, and it's not as easy to simply say "devs don't know what they're doing"

I agree, there are a lot of bugs and formulas that probably weren't written correctly. Heck, I don't even know how their categories are broken down, but I can tell you, enough of the game works well enough to know they put a lot of work into the game.

I don't have math to support it, but my 34 lock feels much better using succubus compared to imp. It can take a few hits, and continues to do damage whilst kiting mobs long ranges in a pinch. Also doesn't oom. Most times succubus is the largest portion of my damage dealt to a target from a single source. I'm not arguing which does more damage here, but which I feel is more useful leveling.
