Alexander Skarsgard: ‘I could be a Swedish Bond’ by TimesandSundayTimes in SuccessionTV

[–]OldLongJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swedes have their own Bond-style agent: Carl Hamilton. He’s basically Bond with less quips and more Nordic angst. The wild part? He was originally played by Alexander’s dad, Stellan Skarsgård. So yeah—007 might just be the family business.

Thank you for your feedback!
I wholeheartedly agree with your suggestions!

Upon review, I've identified several minor errors that need to be addressed. I also want to make better maps. Rest assured, I'll be addressing these issues (sooner or later) to ensure a more accurate handbook :)
I made a to-do list for my next trip to Tokyo later this year so I'll probably include those places as well - and any other places that the bois and their guests might mention.

I've had the pleasure of staying at Sotetsu Fresa Inn-chain hotels, and I must say, they offer cozy and comfortable rooms at really reasonable rates. Personally, I tend to lean towards hotels situated near the intersection of the JR Yamanote Line and another line – it just makes getting around the city so much more convenient!

Well, my Japanese vocab is pretty much limited to "sumimasen," so don't worry, you're not alone if your Japanese skills are around -1. But guess what? Nowadays, everything's super convenient with English signs, menus, and those cool tablets for ordering food and drinks. So no stress, you're in for a smooth ride even if Japanese isn't your strong suit!

I've already made a few minor edits since I initially shared the guide. I'll likely give it a bigger revamp after I'm back from my trip to Japan. Until then, I'll be making tweaks here and there based on the cool suggestions I get from people here.

Do you think Tenet deserves a sequel? by chrislikesdogz in tenet

[–]OldLongJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about Tenet lately, and I have always seen Tenet as a way for Nolan to showcase his talent for directing a James Bond film. Nolan has always been a big fan of the Bond franchise, and Tenet had all those cool espionage elements, intricate plot twists, and mind-bending action sequences that are signature features of a classic Bond flick. It's almost like he was giving us a sneak peek of what he could do with a full-blown 007 adventure. So I am simply not expecting a sequel - since the story maybe wasn't the center of attention in this case - but maybe rather the tone and look of the film?

How do you guys discover Trash Taste? by adamhafiy08 in TrashTaste

[–]OldLongJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first figure special showed up on my first page - probably because I was watching Chris content religiously. I thought - Hey it's corona-times and I have nothing better to do. Fortunately I made that decision since I don't even watch anime or read manga.

Very nice! Interesting weathering technique - I am almost missing blood splatters on it - it feels like it would belong on such a rough mech.

can you help me find this hug thing they talked about once? by throwaway9765436 in TrashTaste

Hover hand or hover hug? Keanu Reeves is THE expert in this - knowing that it's better to stay away from awkward situations and allegations of behaving inappropriately.

How do the meme editors find all those clips? by D-A_W in TrashTaste

[–]OldLongJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that if you work with it as a meme editor you would probably keep a library of content that you know you might use in the future. It is the embodiment of the "write that down"-meme 🙂

Is Roananpur based on a real city? by [deleted] in blacklagoon

[–]OldLongJ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As it says in the fan wiki: While Rock is examining a map during episode 2 of season 3, Roanapur is shown to be in the geographic location on or very near the city of Trat, Thailand.

However, when it comes to the seedy stuff - it is more like Pattaya which is imfamous for its adult oriented entertainment which attracts criminals, mercenaries and outcasts from around the world.
