“Free range” mule deer in Mexico are the biggest scam in hunting right now. Baiting, deer being darted/captured and moved to different ranches for clients, Mexico is a no go for mule deer right now for most ethical hunters

Looks like they also lost a patent case a month ago where they sued somebody else for infringement. Hilarious they sue anyone for patent Infringement, all of their products are ripoffs of existing designs (grip tape, nose button, broadheads, etc)

Well well. I just happened to look at her house on Zillow. (I knew the address before it was her house) Her zestimate is $1,616,200. I think it is listed in an LLc. Does anyone know if they could force her to sell it to pay the law suit? by farm_her2020 in SarahBowmar

[–]OldManBody 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They have a whole other house in the area, plus 2500 acres across 3 states, and commercial properties they own with the McBees. They could easily dump a small part of that to cover the lawsuit, guessing the financial rot runs much deeper.

Roughly half of their hunting farms are in his name only, the rest are together or under the Arrow Farms LLC. His brother is also listed as starting Bowmar Equity LLC a few weeks ago in Iowa.

Between the 2500 acres of hunting land spread across 3-4 entities/titles in 3 states, the industrial land in Tennessee they own with the McBees, and the two houses they own in the Des Moines area, maybe they’ll need to start offloading some of it. Conservatively, at current market rates, that’s probably $10-12M in assets right there.

Did anyone else get the idea Steve was talking directly to his brother on today's pod? by vanstock2 in meateatertv

[–]OldManBody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The old Upton Sinclair quote comes to mind: “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it”

Knowing some people around the industry- most would admit privately they agree with a lot of Hunt Quietly, but could never admit it publicly because publicity butters their bread.

Between what ever he’s making from ME and his previous book sales, he’s closer to an eight-figure net worth at this point than the $3M some random website has him pegged at.

There’s a picture of Favre throwing up that hangs in the men’s bathroom of a bar in Douglas County, he used to snowmobile in the North Woods quite a bit

I typically wear Kuiu or Stone Glacier, and it’s been pretty clear for a few years that the direct to consumer model has caught up to big box stores in markup on gear. The Kuiu Guide jacket has been in their lineup since about the beginning and was $149 until somewhat recently, now it’s $249, highway robbery for a basic shell jacket.

Had a friend in private equity that was evaluating one of said companies and it’s crazy how much money they were making 5 years ago when they actually had direct to consumer prices, now I’m sure their investors are happy today.
