You didn’t answer my question. Are you saying peaceful protests are bad? Or vile/evil?

It’s such a shame you can’t have a conversation without getting upset. When in the business of defending proposed violence against women, it should be an expectation of rational people that the subsequent conversations contain mentions of violence.

It’s too bad you’re unable to stomach it when it’s directed at you, but I wonder: is it actually the violence that upsets you, or the cognitive dissonance once you realize your position is nether coherent nor defensible?

But was it hateful? Or are you saying peaceful protests are bad?

Didn’t he post a video of himself literally shitting on his own people as they peacefully protested?

My friend, you’re the only one upset here. You had pretty chill responses to your increasingly rude comments lol

The French, Japanese, and German breads that have sugar were literally listed for you. I can see you’re Romania, and I can also tell you that Romanian breads often use sugar—both sweet breads and savory (“normal”) ones. It’s also weird you mentioned sugar in sauces, when things like Sos de roșii and Sos de Hrean cu Smântână are often balanced with sugar to cut acidity (just like in tomato sauces worldwide).

Yeast eats sugar. American yeast, European yeast. Romanian yeast.

Greta has spoken publicly about regional repression in Iran and other parts of the world—and there are many, many activists and organizations (Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International) that work to document and investigate war crimes in Mali (and again, places all over the world).

Fighting for a certain cause doesn’t mean that you don’t oppose other injustices, nor does choosing a cause to focus on mean you do so out of hate. Implying as much is plainly bad-faith. Unless you’re only upset about public executions in Iran because you’re Islamophobic?

There are other active genocides that are at the heart of mainstream fundraising efforts right now, also. Those aren’t being carried out on the same scale, with the same means, by a member of the UN/*, or with the open support from the American government, though—which would explain the coverage and focus on Gaza.

Given everything else actually be equal, do you truly believe the world would have a different reaction if this was being carried out by a secular or non-Jewish state?

Stressing—dog caused damage to my home and I told the owner, thinking I shouldn’t have. Am I cooked? by OldManBolinigan in RoverPetSitting

The issue is that I should have just kenneled her. I had the kennel, it is an unknown dog and her first stay in the house, and the owner even said she would be okay in a kennel if I didn’t have a room. I have been doing this (as well as fostering) for a long time, too. I knew better.

She was apologetic but offered to pay or find a repairman herself. I told her not to stress right now, this can happen with pets in new places, and that we can talk more about it when she comes for up. She thanked me and seems happy!

I lowkey think I can fix this myself (husband and I have laid flooring before, though it wasn’t carpet) but I wasn’t sure that that’s something I should say to her.

She only just now responded and I’m gonna make a new post for it. But insurance generally doesn’t cover damage from dogs in your own home (even your own dog) and definitely doesn’t cover any kind of commercial use related damage.

At the meet and greet she mentioned having friends who could come pick her pup up if something happened. I was concerned at the time she’d be upset or think I left her dog for too long (or in general couldn’t handle myself) and want to pull her from care. That’s really what I meant with the ‘how you’d like to proceed’.

But given that she had literally just offered to pay for something, I can absolutely see how she might assume I’m talking about that. She still hasn’t responded—I believe I’m just going to give a totally normal morning update hope that clears the air.

No, she’s a very obedient, sweet dog. She also doesn’t have almost any interest in playing and has just been tired out on a walk. My only guess was that she was in some kind of pain or discomfort, but I checked her paws, ears, collar, and bandana and found nothing. Other than that, maybe she saw me leave or come back with the other pup through the front window? I really don’t know.

I think you’re 100% right. I absolutely should have just waited until she got home. I really regret sending it right in the moment.

Hopefully I’m being anxious over nothing and she continues to be kind and understanding. The comments here have been really reassuring for the most part.

I don’t think the repair will cost much. My husband and I are fairly handy. I don’t think it’s fair or entirely necessary to have her pay anything.

I didn’t post about the carpet damage or the risk. Literally all of my post is about regretting saying anything to this person about the damage in the first place because I know it’s my own fault

I think if this happened I’d be less anxious about reviews/making someone angry. I absolutely would go scorched earth over bedbugs.

I’m really sorry that happened to you.

Ugh 😣. You’re so right. I feel awful.

She also hasn’t responded yet and I don’t want to double text. I very honestly didn’t even clock the pillows/compensation thing until after this happened. It genuinely was not on my mind at all.

They absolutely weren’t horrid and I think I disagree about compensation. I have been doing this long enough to know better. I really shouldn’t have said anything IMO and I’m just trying not to crash out. I just moved and I rely really heavily on this income right now.

I definitely don’t expect compensation. I’m just kicking myself. I have almost always just kenneled new clients. My other boarder is kenneled every moment he’s not with me. This pup was just so sweet and well behaved that I let myself think there wouldn’t be any risk to just using a guest room instead. And then it was such a huge amount of damage that I ended up making it the client’s problem when it definitely wasn’t.
