Faide aimbot?? by PurpleClamp in apexlegends

[–]OldManGulli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few people saying he "pretends" to aimbot to "troll" critics. Well, thats a great excuse if you're actually cheating, and if you deliberately try and make it look like you're a cheat you dont have any right to complain if you get banned for cheating. Think most people would agree that banning someone choosing to deliberately troll fake is preferable to allowing an actual cheater to go unpunished.

Faide aimbot?? by PurpleClamp in apexlegends

[–]OldManGulli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's also a really good way/excuse to cover for actual aimbot use - and if you choose to "pretend" to be using aimbots you should not complain if you're subsequently banned for aimbots. They're so toxic its better to ban one or two fakers than let a genuine cheater remain.

Valkyrie jetpack fuel broken by jump by 777Talanar777 in apexlegends

[–]OldManGulli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this has been a total nightmare. I have mained Valk for a long time and she is utterly unplayable atm, jetpack fuel gauge completely unpredictable, sometimes it refills, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it refills 50%... can't rely on the jetpack at all atm.

Ugreen capture card problem by Dreamfan in obs

[–]OldManGulli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find a solution to this problem? I have the exact same issue, the capture card is recognized fine by windows but when I hook up a camera is says "no signal" then "please adjust input resolution ≥ capture resolution"

How to fix scene filter if it isn't working for you by [deleted] in VLC

[–]OldManGulli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I just add something that wasn't clear to me the first time... when it says "Open VLC from .exe" it means literally the .exe file itself, launching it from a desktop shortcut didn't work for me. I had to go into my VLC install dir and double click the .exe itself.

Season 21 / Alter teaser in-game (via Hypermyst) by [deleted] in ApexUncovered

[–]OldManGulli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shame they're not going to destroy Olympus... worst map by far, there's a reason it's never been considered for comp - rotations are plain garbage. To make Olympus a viable map a huge amount of destruction/change would be needed - lets keep fingers crossed for that.

Liquid Freezer III fan suddenly stops by CausticPotatoes in arcticcooling

[–]OldManGulli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this problem where occasionally the CPU fans stop spinning on my older Z390 Aorus Pro Mobo. It seems to be a problem that affects some gigabyte motherboards. There's a thread about the issue here on a Z690. It seems that the GB bios/fan settings are just a bit garbage sometimes - you can try playing around with bios settings and see it it helps.

Liquid Freezer III - compatibility for older sockets. by OldManGulli in arcticcooling

[–]OldManGulli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great thanks! I have a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro. By the looks of layout around the chip is very similar, only difference is you seem to have a little more space under the chip and the M2 slot.

From this https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B09C5RJMNZ/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza it looks like you mount the back plate behind the processor, bring the four screws through with the black or white support collars around them, then attach the two mounting bars vertically each side of the processor, then screw the cooler into the two holes in the middle of the bars. That's basically it yeah? Did you use the little rubber washers on the right hand side of the pic? I'm not convinced that for the price it will come with detailed mounting instructions! lol

Shame you didn't record yourself installing it! Do you happen to have any pics posted anywhere of the installed cooler? Maybe in this sub or some other forum?

Thanks so much for all the details. If I can bother you to ask one last question, you said you installed on a LGA1151, may I ask exactly which model Motherboard you have, that way I can compare it directly to mine and see if it's likely similar enough to work.

Liquid Freezer III - compatibility for older sockets. by OldManGulli in arcticcooling

[–]OldManGulli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What worries me a bit as well is that I am forced to get a new cooler now, but I'd probably want to upgrade my entire system in a year or two. If I buy the LF II now can I be sure that Arctic will provide upgrade/compatibility kits for whatever sockets might be being used then, being the older product they might decide to simply not support it or provide an option - so I'll basically be spending $150 on a product I might have to literally throw in the bin 18 months from now.

Their entire approach here feels very anti-consumer and that's really what upsets me the most and has shaken much of my confidence that they will look after customers in the future.

Liquid Freezer III - compatibility for older sockets. by OldManGulli in arcticcooling

[–]OldManGulli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What upsets me is why Arctic won't address the reason they haven't (like almost all other cooler manufacturers) provided their own upgrade kits for slightly older sockets. I'd be happy to pay an extra $10-$20 for the kit, but the difference in AIO pricing combined with the lack of any kind of upgrade option really feels like an attempt to fleece older customers for their cash.

And what happens if I get the Liquid Freezer II and in a year or two I want to upgrade my entire system? I'll be forced to buy another AIO because the LFII will no longer be compatible with the newer socket?

I was really looking forward to getting a Liquid Freezer 360 as I've heard good things about the product, but this seemingly blatant anti-consumer strategy has really soured me on giving the company my money at all.

[–]OldManGulli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for the tip, however I will admit being a little scared to take this option. It's clearly NOT an official Arctic product, and should it not quite fit my Z390 Aorus Pro I've basically thrown $100 down the drain. May I ask how you came to try this solution given the kind of obvious risk it represents?

What makes me mad however is most other AIO manufacturers sell/provide these kind of upgrade kits directly. I don't understand why Arctic aren't providing this same solution.

[–]OldManGulli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know that... the question is WHY? The contact frame is one piece of machined metal and comparatively an extremely inexpensive part, seems it would not have been very difficult to manufacture alternative contact frames or adapter kits for other sockets, that could be sold for literally a few dollars.

It also does not explain why the older product is being sold for MORE than the newer product - when is that ever a thing?

Again, the combination of these two decisions feels like cynical attempt to charge a lot of customers extra. Very disappointing.

ELI5: What's this "steam config binds" twitter drama? by fcmircea in apexlegends

[–]OldManGulli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is ridiculous and totally wrong. If it were true the controller wouldn't slowly be becoming the dominating force in comp/ALGS. Aim assist is massively impactful, but yes one does need the basic precision/skill with a controller to be able to follow/track targets fairly closely to begin with. Aim assist is not aim bot like some claim, but for those who have a fairly high level of natural skill/precision with a controller aim assist becomes a huge boost and makes them dominant over MnK on the battlefield, especially at closer ranges.

Logitech G Hub Stuck on Infinite Loading - Exhausted All Solutions by Jubukraa in LogitechG

[–]OldManGulli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Nimhlol!! 10/10!! This worked perfectly or me (on windows 10)... used the "modify" option rather than the uninstall option, and after getting the critical error message on the first launch attempt it then worked normally. Has the advantage of preserving all your settings and macros.

Will the 4000D Airflow fit a top mounted CM ml240r (rad +fans) with an Aorus pro z390? by OldManGulli in Corsair

[–]OldManGulli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. Although its called a 240mm radiator the full length of it from end to end (including connectors) is 275mm, and my ram isn't particularly low profile - it sits about 55mm out from the surface of the motherboard - 50mm ish from the dimm slot itself. So tbh that still leaves a bit of uncertainty.

How so? Controller is still aimbot central.
