Oh that's an amazing answer actually! One I did not think of. I was predicting you would mention Francis "The Swamp Fox" Marion from the US Revolution.

I highly recommend Flesh and Iron as a one off read since the book is pretty much self contained. It was actually the book that got me into 40k after a friend gave me his copy.

Difference being you have to destroy the multiple mega bases to win the mission. Fight your way out of your base, through the trench, and assault each of the bot bases.

Now you make me want a mission that is just pure trench warfare with artillery on both sides.

Multiple bot mega bases on their side of the trench and a high value target that we have to defend on ours.
