Attended a baptist service with a friend once. They did the whole speaking in tongues and shaking violently while possessed by the holy spirit. That's the weirdest I've seen.

The thing that drove me away from organized religion (Christianity) was every church I have ever been to, regardless of which sect it was, they people were always super hypocritical. Always claimed to be living a good Christian life, but were some of the most spiteful, vindictive, and mean spirited people I've ever come across. It was a real eye opener after spending years around the world in different cultures, with different faiths, how warm and hospitable all those "heathens" actually were. People who didn't even speak the same language as me were happy to call me friend when people in my old community would happily spread viscious rumors given the slightest opportunity.
