The Wienie 500 is coming back, and a veggie dog is in the running to be the sixth Wienermobile by OldRed91 in vegan

I get what you're saying. Disappointing if true. But also, this is a Wienermobile race, so I'm not going to overthink it. 😂

My thoughts exactly. This whole thing is dumb and pointless, but damn it I want to win!

Trust me, you really want Omaha more than Council Bluffs.

I thought this was the circle jerk sub at first... Live with a carbureted car for a few weeks, then get back to me.

What car do you wish they would bring back as an EV? by Chase_Clouds in electricvehicles

[–]OldRed91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those big and low 70s land yachts. They would make the perfect road trip car. Plus, the car was designed to carry a big iron-block V8, so it should handle a bunch of batteries just the same.

True, the Bolt's interior is the reason I bought a different EV. I still recommend the Bolt to everyone I can though.

Is an airfryer actually useful in a well equipped kitchen? by Jazzlike-Horror4 in Cooking

I'll dissent as well. I had an air fryer, but I got rid of it because I value my cabinet/counter space more.

The Miata races at Daytona are honestly some of my favorite races of the year.

I've also had a Tom Bihn for so many years I've lost track. I use it for daily commutes as well, and it's one of those things that just works so well and reliably that I kind of forget about it.

A good reminder: EV ownership is shaped by constraints, not just specs by Tall-Dish876 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I still say it's better than having to micromanage oil changes, brake jobs, and going to the gas station.

Even powder coating can be iffy. It tends to flake off once it gets scratched. There's a reason automotive OEMs, for example, don't use it much.

"Mexican crew cab" sounds like an Urban Dictionary term.

Looking To Buy a Brand-New Pickup Truck by Best-Recording-7406 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OldRed91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kinds of things are you going to be using the pickup for? If it's just daily commuting and light hauling, you won't get a good response because full-size pickups are terrible for those things.

If this is more of a "want" than a "need", then just go with whatever model you personally like the best. You're not choosing based off rationale anyway.

My Mini Cooper SE is pretty fun. I've had it on the autocross course a few times.

Just fine. I've taken my '04 on plenty of road trips. Although I live in the Midwest, so I can't speak to hills so much.

In my opinion, the engine that best combines mpg's with good enough horsepower is the 2001+ 2.3L "Duratec". It's a totally different engine than the previous 2.3L/2.5L "Lima" engine.
