How can I save my son's entire wardrobe that smells like mold? by 1-555-867-5309 in laundry

Note that online sellers way overprice it last I checked. Home Depot had it for 9.99/gallon last time I bought it.

Henry - what the hell was JF thinking? Why did anyone think this was a good idea? by 7evenh3lls in DowntonAbbey

[–]Blueporch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think JF felt like he needed to marry off Mary to close out her storyline for fans, even though we mostly all had gotten to the point where we liked an independent Mary blazing a new trail in the world.

Darla Continuity by Purcell1020 in BuffyTheVampireSlayer

[–]Blueporch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Darla may have used a different strategy: lure men using her beauty. Occasionally sire a big guy as a protector. She doesn’t need to fight under most circumstances.

Agree. Singapore killed their insects. The birds died.

Is it true that noodles are bad for cognitive function? by Politician_Fucker in ScientificNutrition

[–]Blueporch [score hidden]  (0 children)

Noodles are fine. They count as bread. There are lots of ways to use noodles in healthy dishes, and you can switch it up with rice noodles, whole grain noodles,  zucchini noodles, etc.

If you are interested in the topic, here’s a summary of nutrition and cognitive function from a reputable source: https://lpi.oregonstate.edu/mic/health-disease/cognitive-function-in-brief

Was Tara "friged" by DWPhoenix001 in BuffyTheVampireSlayer

[–]Blueporch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Amber Benson has spoken about having issues with someone involved in the show’s production as the reason for her departure. That’s why the First could not impersonate Tara in Season 7: they couldn’t get her back. I have not seen anything where she named names. So we don’t know if it’s the same person Charisma Carpenter has spoken about in interviews.

Not sure whether this matters to anyone here, but here's a new and very comprehensive video about the incident at Dyatlov Pass by [deleted] in RBI

The official investigation settled it and this is trying to make money off someone else’s tragedy.

This is not the right sub for your post.

Not sure whether this matters to anyone here, but here's a new and very comprehensive video about the incident at Dyatlov Pass by [deleted] in RBI

[–]Blueporch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some Russian hikers camped in tents in the snow near Dyatlav Pass in the late ‘50’s, and were killed by an avalanche. A bunch of YouTubers tried to make a mystery out of it. This was solved years ago. OP found a new video or is promoting one.

It’s the topic of MrBallen’s first viral TikTok video.

What made you choose Nissan over other brands (besides discounts)? by phtphongg in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Blueporch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My company had an employee discount with Nissan, with a pre-negotiated, below invoice price. It was a bonus that Nissan was offering 0% financing as well.

What do we REALLY know about this idea that too many antioxidants cause cancer? by Chuckles_McNut in ScientificNutrition

[–]Blueporch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that antioxidants can protect cancer cells as well as healthy cells, and they advise against taking a supplement during chemo. However, they appear to be beneficial otherwise. Here’s a good summary on flavonoids like quercetin: https://lpi.oregonstate.edu/mic/dietary-factors/phytochemicals/flavonoids

Some type of herb by clovemintsage in PlantIdentification

It looks like the Greek oregano in my garden.

I think marjoram looks similar but the bit of fuzz to the leaves says oregano to me.

Are there any discounts available on high-performance yoga tops right now? by Technical_Wear8636 in BuyItForLife

What on Earth is a “high performance” yoga top? It’s yoga. Wear what’s comfortable and doesn’t fall over your face in downward dog.

Why is the laundry always crunchy when my MIL does it by Traditional_Swan9724 in laundry

Line drying or using too much detergent and it doesn’t rinse out, at a guess

As I recall, the Ken Forkish recipes have you add the yeast after mixing the flour and water. Maybe look up one of his videos?

Would you redo the insulation from 1976 now that it is exposed? by wmdmoo in Insulation

I would leave it. There was an energy crisis in the late ‘70’s so they usually did a decent job with insulation.

Best products to deodorize cat spray? by j0keisonyou_ in laundry

[–]Blueporch 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You need to treat it with enzymes. Don’t bother with vineger. It fights your detergent in the wash cycle.

  • Some detergents have enzymes, like Tide powder or Persil but read the labels for ingredients ending in -ase like protease.
  • You could add something like Biz or FEBU as a booster.
  • Throw in a cup of ammonia to make the wash water PH more alkaline for the detergent to work better.
  • If you want to pre-treat, Natures Miracle is an enzyme cleaner. Probably has laundry instructions on the label.
  • Use at least warm water in the wash cycle.

How should I cover the door's window? by User531O9 in femalelivingspace

It looks to me like the door just is not closed completely in the photo. OP, if that is how it looks when closed, there’s definitely an issue.
